Cheaper booking single nights compared to multiple nights?

Yikes. Right, I'm definitely going to check. Have yours all been completely missing points - or some "short-changing" of the points provided. It's the latter I've never bothered to check. With fluctuating dollar and different rules as to what counts as base points or not, I don't know I'd have a foolproof way to calculate them myself??

By far the biggest was a complete loss of points at Conrad Rangali. It was a big chunk, so it flagged up for me straight away and alerted me to start checking the points a bit more thoroughly than I had done previously. At Rangali, we had three different accommodation types (upgrades x 2) so that was likely the trigger for the problem.

The other 3 times were short changed points. They seem to give points on the last booking before check out but not any previous consecutive stay(s). It was Cynicor that alerted me to the reason for these short comings.....that being split consecutive stays with merged folios.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry for hijacking the thread and for asking you to repeat info I know you have posted before - much appreciated. All the best for the New Year.

As far as multiple bookings go for consecutive nights, I have found it better to contact the hotel 5 or 6 days prior and advise of the situation.

That way they can allocate the same room and you won't need to change intra stay (as we had to with a fully booked Tokyo Hilton).

Agree. Always tell them.

Rangali will never post if you split a stay into 2 types because of how they do it in their system.

The HH backend will flag you as a no show/incomplete stay and you'll need to fight/email for the points.

Oh, and now that my Rangali has posted I'm past "triple" diamond ;) - 250k base points, 60ish nights.
