Cheapest option to retian *A Gold membership

I am 7998 miles short of renewing my *Gold with Krisflyer...would be grateful if anyone out there in AFFland could advise me on the cheapest option for me to retain my *gold. I have 2 months left.

Well Brisbane to Singapore return is 7650 miles, presuming you get a points earning SIA flight. Maybe a points earning connection on Virgin added to that will do the trick.

Thats my dilemma..I think. BNE-SIN is 7650 and I cannot earn miles on Virgin for Krisflyer. Virgin -Krisflyer is a one way relationship as far as points are concerned.
