Hi Guys,

Trying to figure out how I am getting to Europe. Decided one thing...it's not going to be in Economy! Want to go Business Class.

Spent the last couple weeks trying to figure out cheap ways and look on here from older threads, Ways I've seen is via Russia and via Taipei.

Emirates seems to be the 'cheapest' at $3100ish each way to/from Gatwick add 1.5k each way on top of that if you want to go to Heathrow!!! However I would prefer One World as I am Silver and could possibly be Gold but not looking good at this stage for that.

At this stage I am thinking about doing EK PER-DXB-LGW or FRA/CDG etc etc as they are all the same price. Plus wouldn't mind having a look at Dubai.

But it's coming home, have read that airfares are significantly cheaper to book ex Europe to Australia than booking a return journey. Just wondering if you can do this and how to get the cheapest one world business class flights from Europe or London to Perth??

Looked at awards, but end up in Y for one of the legs and all of the JASA's are 900k Also QF Y+ is 5.2k return to Perth plus you get the added benefit of Economy at the end!

I'm happy with an exotic routing too. Just getting really frustrated in trying to find the cheapest ways one world. More than happy to look at non one world solutions as well but not with Chinese Airlines as all the travel agents seem to want to put you on! Just a shame there's no 2 for 1 deals going at the moment with the airlines.

Hopefully what I am asking makes sense anyway.

Thanks,

Well, if you don't mind flying from PER to a south-eastern Asian destination (SGN/CGK/TPE) in Economy and then continuing on Business to London - that could save you a couple thousand dollars.
eg. PER - SGN return = $560 on Jetstar
and SGN - BKK - AUH - LHR = $2574 return on Etihad + Vietnam Airlines in Business ... is one option.

When exactly do you want to go, and for how long? That's going to make a big difference on price. TG and EK appear to have the best pricing for random dates later this year, so maybe you should look at TG as well?

Thanks will look into that too :) Might be able to handle a few hrs in economy.....

I'm heading over in Mid September and returning Late October/early November.

TG should definitely have availability in the low $6k's for PER-BKK-LHR and return in J at around that time.

Thanks, will look into the US Airways thing, will join up and have a nosey.

Thai are cheap through Travel Agents but about 8k on my dates return so up there with Qantas and Malaysian.

Thanks guys, any more suggestions keep them coming :D

Had a quick look on jetabroad and leaving PER 13SEP returning 30OCT on TG is AUD6111,22

Thanks for that, didn't know a website like that existed! What a great tool very good at comparing :)

Anyone know what Royal Jordanian is like can get a mix of CX,QF and Royal Jordanian for 5.5k Perth to Frankfurt. Cheapest one world fares I've seen to Europe yet all J class.

Don't book your ticket until around mid Feb. That's when the sale fares (including those for business class) get released for the 2nd half of the year. Currently, you'll be looking at the $6500-$7000 mark for your travel dates but wait until next month and you'll probably be able to score a ticket for <$6000. My other suggestion would be to check the various airline websites individually, as they may have great fares which travel agents don't have access to. For example, I'm looking at flights to London (from Sydney) in October and Malaysian are offering $9300 in first class all the way on their website but every travel agent is quoting $15000! I'm very tempted to book these flights now actually!

I think SQ225 nailed it.

Up to say, BKK in Y, then Finnair from there in J? (I'm less familiar with OW!)

Qatar airlines have cheap business class fares from Bali (DPS). For example DPS-LHR is US$4,072.63 return. It is expensive to get to Bali in business class from Perth, although it is very cheap in economy. So that might be an option to consider.

Qatar airlines get good reviews for their service and was selected as the World's Best in the most recent Skytrax survey. However at the moment they don't belong to an alliance, so not much use for points/status.

Thanks guys :)

Just found MK has released some good fares. $6,211 PER-LHR-PER via KL. If they joined one world this would be amazing value and only a few dollars dearer than Thai.

Also A380 KL-London and Return so not too bad!!

Might hold off till mid Feb just incase I can get a better deal but assume MK wont go below that for J to London.
