I've been making bookings for a family holiday in the UK in a few months.

Have found a few times that web sites don't indicate the number of tickets left at a certain price.

For example when booking the eurostar from London 3 tickets was coming out at $135 each. When I looked at the single price it was $113. Once I booked 1 ticket the others came in at $135.

It's annoying they wont sell you the cheaper seat and then average the price cheaper per ticket.

Is this a particular site or have you found this regardless of which site you buy the tickets from?
I am assuming here that like purchasing tickets for use in Europe, there is more than one place to make the purchase.

Found that the same thing happens with the QF website.

On a couple of occasions I have booked our family on the same flights but different tickets to save a few dollars.

I've seen this when booking with a provider directly. maybe if you book via say expedia they will take from the cheapest inventory first??

I know Air Asia will sell you the cheaper seat and then the more expensive one if you booked 2 seats at the same time.

Something I think people should just be aware of as you could save a few $$

It's the same with any GDS or booking system. If the inventory only has one available it will go to the next fare bucket and sell them. Not possible to do one booking with multiple fare classes.

This happened to me on VA website recently for an OOL-SYD booking for 2 people. I don't really remember how I checked the price for 1 person (could have been an accident) but there was only one cheaper fare available so I made 2 bookings.

Wow - awesome that fare class availability is freely available again.
