I'm always amazed at the greed of some people with what they bring on board; and not to save money but in thinking they are so important they shouldn't need to check bags like 'regular' passengers.

Matt

Exactly what I'm thinking.

I'm all for coming down hard on this problem, regardless if you are on exit seat, J or first class, or sitting in the coughpit.

In my opinion, only cameras, computers, and small personal necessaries should be taken on board e.g. make up box, medicines.

If you have more than a computer, a pack of tissues, some make up, and maybe a pair of undies / bras, it should be checked.

People with massive luggage, especially those who have hard case with probably 5 bras + PJ + suit + jackets + shoes + boots, but still take them onboard, is ridiculous.

The cabin is crowded enough. Then people try to push their heavy luggages into the overhead, while the other half of the passengers wait, trying to pass through them to move to the back of the plane. It ends up taking so much more time.

Everyone should have a small messenger bag, or handbag, or laptop bag. Once you found your seat, swing your small light bag into the overhead which takes 5 seconds, then sit down, hang on, and shut up, take off.

As much as I like arriving at the airport 15 minutes before gate close, I consider it a pain to be pulling a fully maxed out carry on luggage through the airport, then taking ages trying to push it into overhead, then taking up space which other people may need. It is selfish.

And I know some of you are going to flame me for this!
