After reading this, I used the site for the first time to look at an upcoming trip, and find the following appended to my itinerary!:

Qantas Airways QF 9021 Wednesday, November 1, 2006 From Sydney / Kingsford Smith (SYD), Sydney, New South Wales Australia 6:00 AM To FICTITIOUS POINT / (QMX), FICTITIOUS POINT 7:00 AM Status Confirmed Cabin Coach Aircraft Boeing 747SR Flight duration 12:00 Mileage 9188 miles Disclaimer Stop(s) 0

Had you cancelled a sector and left the value in credit for future? That would leave you with flights to ficticious points since that is how QF stores the booking

My query is related to others in this thread, but I'm curious if anyone knows the answer. Im booked QF SYD - LHR (Via SIN) in D on 27 Feb, then LHR - HKG in J on BA 14 Mar, and HKG - SYD in J on QF on 16 Mar.

The only leg with a seat allocation is the last one, and 23K matches my preference (forward window). Does it reflect full flights?

Anyone have a clue why:?:

Any tips welcomed!

Probably because you haven't requested them. If you are in J class on BA, then go to BAs Manage My Booking and you can select a seat from the map. For the Qf flights, phone QF and see what they can do

Fair call and good advice Dave; I've gone to ba.com and selected an exit row upper deck following seatguru's recommendations.:D

Now to discuss the flight out with QF.

I'm still mystified why I got a seat allocation on ones leg but not the other. This was via HRG though.

I am flying on a Qantas Round the World Award ticket together with my wife in July/August. Both tickets were paid for using point in my FF account. Checkmytrip.com only shows seat allocations for one traveller according to seat preferences I have put in under seat preferences for myself on Qantas.com . Is that normal ? Is there a way of finding out what seats the other traveller has allocated, and what are the chances of us not being seated together ?
We are flying:
Sydney - Shanghai (QF)
Shanghai - Chicago (AA)
Chicago - Miami (AA)
Miami - NYC (AA)
NYC - London (AA)
London - Warsaw (BA)
Warsaw - London (BA)
London - Sydney (QF).

Checkmytrip.com shows seat allocations for all Qantas, and American flights, yet for none of the BA flights. Anyone have any ideas why that is, and if there's any way of changing seat allocations before the 24 hours from departure ?

Thanks,
Lukasz

If you have OW Sapphire or Emerald status then you can assign seats using BAs Manage My Booking. if not, then you want to get online at T-24hrs and get a good seat assigned

Ok, that explains it why its not available at BA website, I am 110 points short of Emerald.

Are you sure, since that will make u Sapphire

QF Bronze = no status
QF Silver = Ruby
QF Gold = Sapphire
QF Platinum = Emerald

My bad, misread the table on the website. I am 110 points short of QF Gold.
How about my other question, about the second traveller ? Any ideas ?

If you are both in the same PNR, then it will show seats assigned for both of you. If you are on the same PNR and it is only showing 1 seat assigned, then one of you does not have a seat assigned. If on a separate PNR, then you need to use the other person's PNR

What's a PNR ? I have one Qantas booking reference number for the entire trip. Both of us are on the same booking under my QFF account. In the Special Requests section, I have Window Preference for myself, and no preference for my wife.

A PNR is a "Passenger Name Record".

It's your Booking reference. What Dave Noble was indicating is that both passengers need to be on the one "booking" (or PNR).

That reminds me - I need to link mrssimongr's award flight to BNE to my DONE4 flight to BNE... A call to QF later today might be necessary.
