Did a random search using Multi City booking and found out that flights between Osaka and Taipei is available flying China Airlines.

However, looking at Qantas website, it seems like that you can only use Qantas points flying China Airlines only if the flight is between Australia and Taipei.

I called Qantas and tried to book the flight between Osaka and Taipei using points but the agent told me that no seats are available on that flight (CI157 and CI153).
Just wondering whether anyone succeed making a booking flying China Airlines that is not between Australia and Taipei?
If this flight cannot be booked, why on earth did Qantas display it on its booking system.

There will be an announcement later today ... but hey have expanded the partnership to all CI destinations for redemptions ... some good options into Europe and North America
Wow, thank you. I will call Qantas again and try to find an agent who is willing to help.

That is fantastic news. I’ve really enjoyed my J flights with them in the past so will be a god way to burn the points I’m trying to whittle down

Why not just book it online if you can see it ? It might not have flowed down to the people you are talking to
I can see the seat if I search for it using Multi City tool, but when I went into manage booking and try to change one of the leg, this particular flight does not show up.
So I have Osaka -> Taipei (CX), Taipei -> Mel (CI), and I wish to change the 1st leg.
The 1st leg has rewards seats when I search for it using Multi City tool, but it does not show up when I using manage booking to change it...

Great news! I'm heading back to Taiwan for a few weeks late April on CI reward flights. Will be nice to be able to tack on some other hops, if not for this trip, then next time I'm visiting.

Is Osaka-Taipei via HKG, is that why you want to change it versus a nonstop on CI ? Or just better date/times?

Just with all the problems with changes to Classic Rewards lately, wondering if you're doing a disservice to yourself by changing when you already have something suitable booked...

The answer is simple, it requires less points if I change it. But I am a bit concerned about changing it as I have seen a few posts about getting into waitlist....

Does this apply to flights from Brisbane to Taipei as well?

What cities in Europe can you go onwards to from Taipei?

Was actually trying to get to Tel Aviv, Larnaca or Amman.

Now if only QF can fix their search engine so that you can depart from TPE

Yep, still not working as of 5:55pm AEDST:

Although, earlier there was a 2nd option for Taipei (not TPE, but was CAS or similar), with the classic rewards ribbon next to it - it's gone now (only TPE comes up when you type Taipei).

I wouldn’t hold my breath awaiting it.
EK has been a major partner of QF for how long now and they still can’t get DXB to work on their system

Anyone flown in/out of ONT?
Plenty of award space and just wondering what it’s like as an alternative to LAX and any pros or cons
