China - never a dull moment!

Slippers are always in pocket in seat back - but if you in front row they should have handed them to you or had them sitting on your seat with blanket - if not there most times they will come and give them to you - if not just ask - oh I have like a dozen of their blankets also!

You get to keep the blankets as well!?

Parked up at the side of the road, near major intersections or around toll booths as this one is - ready for you to pull up and get some new rocking tunes.

This post prompted by another post JohnK put up in another thread.

If you want to take cash to China to exchange for local currency make sure the cash you take is in PRISTINE CONDITION - definitely NO damaged or defaced notes. ALL decent hotels and ALL banks will readily exchange foreign currencies for RMB at rates set daily by Bank of China - but they will refuse them if they are damaged in any way. I saw a yank in BRCH last month who had 5 of his 10 USD100 notes refused for exchange - did he ever throw a hissy fit.

YES I know everybody should have a Citi Debit or similar card but sometimes cash suits people better - even myself sometimes.

Heads-up! Bejing airports will be closed to all air traffic on September 3 between 0930 and 1230 for the 70th anniversary of the allied victory over Japan.

Expect long delays and/or cancellations on this day, and surrounding days. This will also be a national holiday (long weekend) - so if you have any travel plans in China where you can take the train... book now!

Huge explosion in China.
