China - never a dull moment!

literally a ham burger :)

did you eat it??

I was that hungry - I tried. Bread was too dry and hard. Ham was a Chinese style sausage flavoured contraption that I am not overly excited about - so no. Fruit kept me alive.

It was piping hot as well

Reminds me of the pizza slice I got served in Y on CA on a PEK-HRB flight. Pizza was actually alright. Obviously not fancy Italian pizzeria quality but better than a supermarket freezer pizza.

Cruiser - this thread is about weird stuff in China - not what you do to your mutts at home.

+1 Serfty - cannot refer to something being like the size of dogs balls anymore without vomiting. Cheers.

Good to see the mere mention of a freebie still draws out the crowds :D

I really thought by end Feb this would have all blown over
SARS in 2003 lasted 8 months, and was only in Hong Kong and China.

This is world wide, bigger than SARS, and transmits Asystematicly. You have people spreading it for months with no symptoms that they have been infected with the virus. You have the 600 odd people inflected in Korea by a single Asystematic person in the church, and that number is growing.

To me, the Asystmatic nature of it is what is going to have it spread everywhere and this is something we are still going to be talking about in a years time and how it is still impacting all of us.

Well, as I would normally be on trip three to China for this year at the moment, but bored at home instead, I decided to read a lot of this thread to see if there was information I wasn't aware of or any feedback I can provide. One thing I can mention is in regard to WeChat Wallet. The WeChat for Windows method has been working for me over the past year or so, as long as you can have someone transfer to you. I have been using my WeChat Pay at vending machines, convenience stores etc. with no issues.

So you have a friend or a business associate transfer funds to you for you to use WeChat Wallet?

RRPITA that they banned top ups with foreign CCs - luckily can still purchase train tix through WeChat - all in English and simplest way to pre buy I have found - and can use foreign CC

Correct. I usually just give cash to one of our China based reps and she just sends it through. If I try and accept through mobile app I get the standard add CC but if I open through Windows it clears instantly.
