Chinese warship live-fire exercise discovered by Virgin (Australia) pilot, Air safety body says

Reported earlier it was on the “Guard” frequency (for those playing at home). ASA don’t monitor (probably can’t since it’ll be LOS).

EK also challenged and told to bugga off.

ASA diverted approx 50 aircraft until they sailed “further south”. Who’s going to warn the penguins?

Chinese warships off Tasmanian coast prompt Hobart flight path change

Three Chinese warships are currently off the coast of Tasmania, forcing Air New Zealand flights between Hobart and Auckland to change their path.

The Jiangkai-class frigate Hengyang, the Renhai-class cruiser Zunyi and the Fuchi-class replenishment vessel Weishanhu have reportedly been conducting live firing exercises in the Tasman Sea.

Chinese warships re-enter Australia's Exclusive Economic Zone​

The People's Liberation Army-Navy (PLA-N) Task Group is now operating around 160 nautical miles (296km) east of Hobart.

There are some crockpot ideas that the Chinese built fleets in the 1400's that sailed all around the globe, including claims many are shipwrecked around Australia..so there's that theory to claim I suppose.
