Re: Airport Trains Saturday Morning

I did look at Google. I have never seen a fish pie let alone tasted one. Pictures dont say much. Just as well my question was answered by CaviAck.

Fish Pie is a pretty British dish I believe. It's like any other pot based pie. Fish, potatoes and the like in a cream based sauce, with pastry lid.

Very surprised you've not heard of it (or come across it in your travels over the years!).

I'm more surprised that it could be mistaken for quiche.

I hardly go out to eat so that should be no surprise. I have heard of fish cakes but not fish pie.

Apologies if some people find that strange.

Not strange just surprising (I guess I like so many different cuisines it sounded unusual to me more than anything).

Re: Airport Trains Saturday Morning

Fish Pie as I cook it (via my mother!) made with a white cheesy sauce, add in chopped up boiled eggs, onion, shredded fish, S&P etc, top with mashed potato and a sprinkling of cheese then bake to make a crusty top. Haven't made one for ages though.

Re: Airport Trains Saturday Morning

Not being a great fish eater, I couldn't imagine ever touching a fish pie.

It's very low on my scale of desired foods. Certainly doesn't have a regular plaice on my dinner table.
