Christmas in nth Queensland

I can see you've scrubbed it Roo, but for next time we're more votes for The Reef House. Definitely better to book direct. It's not adults only but does techinically have an adults only pool (although hasn't been policed when we've been there).

Last time we were upgraded to a corner beachfront room with a huge semi enclosed spa on the balcony. Was glorious sitting on the balcony listening to the small waves rolling onto the beach. There's a netted ocean 'pool'. Time before last we were all called out of the water. A croc had been seen swimming offshore!

I can let you know how hot and humid it is @RooFlyer we are heading there 3-10 December for nephew Pilot's 30th - what you do for family🙅‍♀️
We are staying in Palm Cove and agree with Reef House, especially as you are A+
I know you have changed your plans @RooFlyer but as promised, I will give you a weather update.
Arrived yesterday to blue sunny skies, quite humid 32° and very windy.
By the early hours of this morning, we had rain, thunder and lightning.
Pleasantly cool by breakfast time.

and this afternoon, a big burst of rain for about 90 minutes.

Driving along Captain Cook Hwy at Clifton Beach.
Nephew Pilot has been cleaning the mud from his pool in preparation for the big family party this weekend 🤦

And to rub it in, the Party Aunty, who arrives tomorrow, has been sending photos of sunny Melbourne 🤭

What @bPeteb said. MrsK and I are big fans of The Reef House, and as return guests we get 10% discount if we book direct. Luxury Escapes sometimes does packages at The Reef House, which is how we found out about it.

LE is how we first booked. When we arrived they told us to call when LH has an offer as they will usually better it, plus you get Accor recognition.

Guessing it may have been a couple of years since you have been there (when they had the adults only pool). They changed their market to Adults Only recently.......

Their policy page (Policies - The Reef House Adults Retreat) shows: "No Children policy under 16 years of age - The Reef House is an Adults only resort, please note we do not accept bookings with children under the age of 16 years, any persons arriving under this age will not be admitted to the resort and all monies and bookings will be void with no refunds due."

Yes - it was very child free Oct last year when we were there. Likewise the Peninsula Boutique Hotel in Port Douglas where we've stayed, is also Adults-Only, which is a big plus.
