While I personally may not have agreed with some of his decisions (and at the same time applauded some of his achievements) , he did lead the company well. All the best for his future endeavours.

Also at the same time, with Luxon leaving in September, it would open the path for NZ and VA to work together again with a clean slate seeing that both CEOs involved in the NZ/VA clash will no longer be there by the end of this year.

Apart from the fact his last step was to get in bed even closer with QF via integrating frequent flyer programs.

But yes with the toxic JB and CL now gone anything is possible eventually!

Except for Star Alliance membership of course. There's still the block from United to deal with (on the basis that VA dumps Delta) which isn't likely anytime soon.

Especially with the news that Scurrah and VS is currently sorting out a JV deal with VS's half-owner DL watching on, making it increasingly likely that VA and DL will probably renew their TransPac JV.
