There's an new offer available until 20 January 2025 on the Citi Premier card for 110,000 bonus Velocity Points:

You can earn 110,000 Velocity Points by spending $8,000 within 3 months of approval and enrolling in Points Autosweep.

The Citi Premier card has a $300 annual fee and comes with 2 annual Priority Pass airport lounge visits, travel insurance & $10 cashback each month with BINGE.

You earn effectively the equivalent of 0.5 Velocity points per $1 spent on domestic purchases, or 1 Velocity point per $1 on online & overseas purchases, up to 100,000 Velocity points per year (transferred from 200,000 Citi reward Points).

Anything regarding exclusion based on previously holding the card? I can't see anything in the Ts&Cs but over at OzB someone mentioned in LiveChat they were told ANY prior Citi bonus points would preclude you from receiving them this time around.

I'm inclined to think it's a rep not knowing what they're talking about but wanted to ask this brains trust before applying?

I'm not aware of any exclusion period.

This is what the offer T&Cs say:

This offer is not available when closing or transferring from another Citi branded credit card account or in conjunction with any other Citi branded credit card offer.

Applied and approved this week (painless process!), am hoping the card arrives before Christmas so we can take them overseas and punch through that minimum spend.

I applied for this card on Monday morning. It was approved on Monday evening and the card arrived in the mail today. Easy process.

So, to get the 110,000 Velocity points, I assume I don't need to enrol in Points Autosweep until later? The T&Cs say:

You will receive an email from us two months after you have met the spend criteria with information on how to provide your Velocity membership number to us to enrol in Points Autosweep. 220,000 Citi reward Points (equivalent to 110,000 Velocity Points) will be credited to your Citi Rewards Balance within 2 months of meeting the spend criteria and automatically transferred to Velocity on the date nominated by you, provided you have enrolled in Points Autosweep.

I applied for the card this week (after having closed this same card in September). I was instantly denied. Unsure if they even did a credit check.

My circumstances have not changed since I last held the card, credit score only improved (was already very good).

Seems like I got pinged for churning too quickly.

Not exactly an answer to your question, but I applied for Autosweep immediately, to sweep at the end of the month.

I met the spend requirement in the first month, and the points were credited like this immediately after my first statement:

So if you're looking to just keep the points Citibank points to then convert into a different program, you could turn on autosweep, then turn it off before your points are converted (but after the bonus is credited?)

I didn't think of this so not sure if they restrict your converting partners or actually remove the points if you turn off autosweep.

I have since closed this card and am waiting for however long to reapply for another Citi Card... Welcome to hear other people's experience with how long people wait before re-applying to Citi? PM's open...
