amex-explorer-card-art.pngWhy we like the Citi Prestige credit card

The Citi Prestige card is packed with benefits including unlimited Priority Pass airport lounge access for you and a guest travelling with you. You can even use this to access up to AUD36 per person (for up to 2 people) worth of food & beverage credits at participating Priority Pass airport bars, restaurants and cafés each time you fly. This benefit alone is worth more than the $700 annual fee!

This card has lots of opportunities to earn bonus points. You'll earn:
  • 1 Citi reward Point per $1 spent on everyday eligible purchases;
  • 2 points per $1 at major supermarkets, petrol outlets and national retailers; or
  • 3 points per $1 spent with major airlines, hotels and restaurants in Australia, as well as transactions online and overseas
Cardholders also enjoy a range of complimentary insurances, including International and Domestic Travel Insurance and Mobile Phone Insurance, plus other exclusive discounts and benefits.

See our card guide for the full details and to take advantage of our exclusive sign-up bonus points offer:

Even if could just cancel and re-apply and get 250k points with the current promotional offer + 700 fee
Wouldn't Citibank just reject your application? Although they don't have a cooldown period on sign-up bonuses, I'm not confident they'll accept an application with such a recent closure.

Unless anyone has been successful before...?

I used to have this card 3 months ago, can anyone confirm if they have reapplied in similar circumstances and got bonus points?

I only see a 200k a bonus? Anyone have a link to the 250k bonus?

thanks

The current public offer is for 250K bonus Citi Rewards points, which are worth 125K Velocity points.

The AFF exclusive offer is for 200K Velocity points, which is a better offer.

I've asked a similar question on the corresponding Citibank Prestige Qantas thread - does anyone know the definitions of the terms I've bolded:

3 Citi reward points per $1 spent on Eligible Transactions made directly with major airlines, hotel chains and restaurants in Australia. Plus 3 Points per $1 spent on eligible transactions made overseas,2 Citi reward Points per $1 spent on Eligible Transactions made directly with major supermarkets, petrol outlets and national retailers,1 Citi reward Point per $1 spent on all other eligible transactions

ie the difference between using this card for a "restaurant" (or is it a "major restaurant") that earns 3 points versus a "cafe" that might only earn 1 point. Similarly a "major supermarket" versus my IGA or corner store?

Interesting that it says 300k Citi points is credited to you which is then auto sweep to 150k Velocity. So technically if you disable the auto sweep you could potentially transfer it to Krisflyer or another airline out your choosing.
