It’s been a while since I last redeemed QFF points for flights. I moved a block of points from CBG to QFF a couple of months ago and was wondering if I would get the complimentary travel insurance if I redeemed QFF points for flights? Thanks.

The citibank website, in typical fine print, suggests you have to redeem your points within a month of the transfer:

As a member of the Citibank Rewards Program, the cardholder obtained their overseas travel ticket in exchange for the cardholder redeeming their Citibank Reward Points, provided the redemption occurred within one month of the cardholder transferring at least 15,000 Citibank Reward Points to a frequent flyer program

Not something I was aware of previously. More details on the website:

Insurance - Citibank Australia

On a related note, the definition of 'overseas flight ticket' seems vague. Does that mean if I pay for say intra-europe flights on other cards, that part of the trip is not covered. Or am I covered between for whole period between the outbound and inbound legs paid for on my citibank card?

If you take the details from: Insurance - Citibank Australia

Platinum, Signature and Select all read:
As a member of the Citibank Qantas Rewards program, the cardholder obtained their overseas travel ticket in exchange for redeeming their Qantas Frequent Flyer points, provided that the cardholder had credited a minimum of 15,000 points to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account, in accordance with the Citibank Qantas Rewards program;

Gold reads:
As a member of the Citibank Rewards Program, the cardholder obtained their overseas travel ticket in exchange for the cardholder redeeming their Citibank Reward Points, provided the redemption occurred within one month of the cardholder transferring at least 15,000 Citibank Reward Points to a frequent flyer program

Sadly, I don't have the original PDS/T&Cs that applied to the Citibusiness Gold but I would assume that given CBG seems to lie between Signature & Platinum that the Travel Insurance would apply.

Might want to give them a call though?
