Just had a pre-paid stay at a Sydney Hotel booked through Wotif.com.

I asked the hotel for an invoice but as the accommodation was pre-paid, they advised that they could not issue me with one.

Sent my Wotif.com documentation to QFF and they requested an invoice from the hotel.

Anybody had know how I get around this?

Next time book with direct with hotel

It depends on the hotel policy, but generally hotel rooms booked through one of these websites are not eligible for FF's (unless specified otherwise when booking).

All is not lost though ... a little tip, that wotif.com (and other last minute sites) have IMHO been transformed from sites where hotels used to dump rooms at the last minute at good prices, to sites that now offer rooms at escalated prices, because people use them for convenience. The last half a dozen times or so I've rung the hotel direct and scored rooms cheaper than on these sites (& therefore got points for them as well). It does depend on the hotel though.

It might be an idea to give the QFF card while checking in. Then the hotel guys may be able to say if you are eligible (or not) for FF points.

I agree with the last post. Ringing hotel directly and booking gives a lot of flexibility in terms of cancellation as well. If they quote a higher price over the phone, mention the wotif price, and they will usually match (sometimes without the extras such as breakfast).

I've actually done this myself and saved a number of times. It doesnt always work but its worth the price a telephone call to find out.
