Missing Credit Madness [Qantas refusing Credit for Travel on Partner/oneworld Airlines]

Really need something that shows the fare bucket before you pay so as can see whether will earn SC's and make changes accordingly if needed/want to. At least now though I know that when booking a fare to China via HKG it needs to be Flex if I am going to earn SC's on the HKG-PVG leg.
I wrote a script ovrr a decade ago to pull fare buckets out of the booking and show them before payment. Too many changes made it harder and harder to keep it working.

Cheers for that link - so best option might be (if there are enough seats available) to do a BPay booking - check in "Manage Your Booking" to see what the fare classes are and then if OK make another booking and pay with your NAB Qantas Visa or similar to get the points and then just ignore or try to cancel the BPay booking (having never paid for it). A bit of a screw around but if that is what Qantas forces us to to do because they won't display the fare classes are...

If there’s a degree of uncertainty, you can always try searching on ITA Matrix. It’ll show fare bucket for a certain price. Compare that to what you see online with the airlines.

Or some OTAs will quote the fare buckets at time of booking.

Or just fly J. They’ll generally earn something!

Going to need about six tabs open to book an airfare!

I'm still waiting for QFF to credit me for my MU flight in J - because their claim missing points page doesn't properly populate the departure airport field when I enter in Jinan.

Actually I wonder if it is possible to make a BPay booking and then after taking a look at the fare details etc in "Manage Bookings" then ring the call centre to make payment with the NAB Qantas Visa card?

Unless it’s a specific Sale fare you’re booking, I usually start with ITA Matrix to see what potentially are the best fares / carriers for my travel needs.

Then try and replicate the fare on the airlines website. So max two tabs.
 
Sorry for digging this year-old thread, but I'm currently in the same boat with QF rejecting a QR-marketed and metal (FCO-DOH & DOH - PER) flight with the excuse of it being awarded to another airline. Which I see as odd because they were purchased, QFF was entered into the loyalty line, and QR recognised the status with QF/OW for it on my boarding passes.

I just flicked an email for an appeal for both segments, along with my boarding pass clearly showing my flight class and QFF tied to the ticket. If not, I will raise a complaint and then either go through the ACA route... or just go the nuclear option, similar to what these guys did on flyertalk:

It's an absolute joke if you are going to be within the same founding alliance and won't even speak to each other on the table...

Kind of resurrected a dead thread on another post with QFF regarding these rejections:

They seem to think/hope that about 80% of claimants will give up after both an automatic and quasi-manual rejection. I've been through the same thing recently with an MU flight in J and a QF Hotels booking.

Hey SYD, these flights were on the 9th/10th of this month, so they are quite fresh; I really didn't want to deal with leaving it too late in case the system removes it or whatever. Horror story is a friend had this issue getting their JAL Js credited to QFF, again throwing a similar fuss - but claimed it 6 weeks after their flight, and took another 4 to finally get it credited
 
My advice, raise a complaint on the Qantas website. It will likely result in just another email from QFF saying the claim is still being processed.

Then raise a complaint at the airline advocate. They won’t accept your case but they will notify QF about your issues and you’ll get someone to resolve it within a week.

In your complaint just list the dates of correspondence you’ve had with the service centre trying to resolve it so they know you haven’t just gone straight to the complaint. I did it after about 3 months and this worked for me.

TBH, I’d give at least 2 wks from flights flown before going down the nuclear option. The “already credited” response probably means they’ve been sent but havent come through yet. My last trip on QR, the flights to Europe took a week to post (which was cutting fine for the end of my FF year) but they return flights a week ago posted same day - just the luck of the batch processing.

If your BP clearly show your QFF # and OW status (as you mentioned), then that’s a very good sign that the details are correct.

the " already awarded to another airline" reject could also indicate you have been a victim of fraud ... What has been happening recently and especially with QR bookings is Numbers are being swapped very close to departure to another partner ( for example Velocity ) .

The way it works... The scammers get your booking details... make a Frequent flyer account with your name with a partner airline that has generous family pooling/ sharing... very close to departure they then change the number (via a one world partner website) to the scam account .... the points then are awarded to this scam account and then used / transferred out before you even realise they are missing!! This is the main reason Velocity has stopped additions to family pooling online....

I held off mentioning that scenario because QR have clamped down their own system (possibly in response to that issue).

To even open a QR PNR, you need a OTP to your phone/email.

That doesn’t prevent the “inside job” at the airport but I’m not aware if they’re still occurring?

OMG it’s deplorable that people have to go to that level of effort to get their points awarded.

Its damn annoying - especially when it is for stupid reasons like the missing points webpage won't accept Jinan because someone hasn't coded it properly - but Jinan works in the points calculator.
