Classic Reward on JQ: options after Changes

Looks like my JQ26 flight NRT to CNS and onwards to MEL on the 17th of Jan has been cancelled.

I've been moved to the 16th of Jan, however, onward flight is still on the 18th which is painful.

The tickets were booked as a classic reward and one of us is QF gold.

The change flights button is not working so I'm just wondering if the experts here can advise on my options before I brave a call.

Given its QF ticketed, would they move me onto a QF flight or am I limited to JQ options? If not I reckon I may be better off cancelling the ticket and booking on another carrier.

Unfortunately it depends how answers the phone when you call.

If you get someone Aus based they will be able to accommodate you into a QF flight on the 17th

subject to award seat availability and your points balance you could make a new on-line booking and then cancel the existing. You will receive a full points refund if your original booking was made prior to end of September. Your new booking will however no longer benefit from flexible changes/cancellation

Resurfacing this one to report on success. Had to hang up and try again a couple of times but am now ticketed on QF HND-SYD-MEL in J.
