re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

Technically, non-DSE stores are not supposed to accept DSE branded cards. However, there doesn't appear to be anything that actually stops them being accepted across the group.
How could they refuse when they have 'Valid at all participating stores' on the back.

Anyway D!ck Smith also has Woolworths and Big W gift cards so I am purchasing these instead. Nothing like a good collection of gift cards. ;)

I should ask, because it might befuddle a few shop assistants. Can you use more than one gift card in the same transaction? For example, if I have three gift cards with balances $1.50, $5.50 and $20, can I use all three at once to settle a bill totalling $27.00?
Yes. And after all my begging, mum now uses multiple gift cards if necessary. :D

Because only Big W, for example, is a participating store for using a Big W card. DSE is the only store that participates for using a DSE card etc.

By only having DSE as participating stores???? :)

No it is not. I have a Big W card in front me and it specifically states in a couple of points

'2. The Card may be used in participating stores. Stores may change from time to time.'

'6. For full terms and conditions and a list of participating stores visit WISHgiftcard.com.au'

Now I have not visited the website but I did use this Gift card at both Big W and Woolworths.

No, no, no.

:idea:I always exhausted the full value of my gift cards to avoid the above situation!

Interesting thing in the T&C's : http://everydaygiftcards.com.au/Upl...96-BE5C-2BE3F68C2BDF/WISH_Gift_Card_Terms.pdf

"WISH Gift Card" means a WISH Gift Card, Woolworths Supermarket Gift Card, BIG W Gift Card, **** Smith Gift Card, CALTEX WOOLWORTHS co-branded Petrol Gift Card, BWS Gift Card, Dan Murphy’s Gift Card, Thomas Dux Grocer Gift Card and Woolworths Liquor Gift Card issued by us.
“WISH Gift Card Participating Store” means one of the stores listed on the Website (everydaygiftcards.com.au) as a store which accepts payment using the WISH Gift Card, as amended from time to time.

But if you go to Redemption Guide | Everyday Gift Cards and click on a brand, then store to see which cards they accept, only DSE is marked as accepting the DSE Store card.

You can, but it is easier to do if using a self-checkout machine... saves weird looks and confusion. (You can specify how much to pay with the gift card).

Interesting indeed. I may test that theory out this week as I need to buy some prepaid 3 Mobile broadband for 1 month as I have cancelled the postpaid contract.

If they do not accept the Big W/Woolworths gift cards then I will go just go to Big W/Woolworths to purchase the prepaid voucher....

I was in DSE this afternoon buying another card. I automatically defaulted to the Wish card but should have looked at and asked about the others.

Perhaps you should - and see what is documented there.

Whach cards work at Big W? Store Locations: BIG W

(If you can use them at other stores then that is fine and good, but that is not what the website documents!)

Does it really matter what is documented on the website if the actual experience is different? ;)

Perhaps, perhaps not....

Should be 10% off at DSE, which I believe will be cheaper than buying it at either BigW or Woolworths.

Not really, they all act as though they are Wish Cards. Which get hidden behind the counter for some reason.

Amex 5 x points at Dĩck Smith (over $50)

True - But "Partner participation is subject to change without notice."

.

I don't see anyone earning millions of points from this like that previous transaction based promo so I don't expect them to change the partners without notice.

But I will also be stocking up. The new DSE store in rundle mall Adelaide has plenty of wish cards.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

For those of you doing this with Hopscotch, what excuse have you given the DSE merchant when you front up every day buying the same thing? (Of course, the salesperson is puzzled, "why didn't this nut just buy all those cards at the same time?")

There's enough stores in Brisbane to share the love around ... Even then, I haven't had the same salesperson twice in any store I've gone to (try early morning, late arvo type separations)

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

For that reason I think I'll stock up on some cards for a rainy day, you know all those Xmas presents next year.....
One needs to be careful if stocking up on gift cards now. I believe there is 12 months expiry on these gift cards. I could be wrong....
