Coles gift card offers

VA converts to SQ at cost of 1.55, so above example of a business seat from Sydney to Nadi will still bring you in ahead using SQ points obtained the long way from a flybuys transition (and give you the larger network).
So VA > SQ is 1.55:1
Flybuys > VA is 2:1
That means Flybuys 3.1 > SQ 1

2000 Flybuys miles =
$10 off at Coles; or 645 SQ miles

If I rate SQ mile at 1.2c each for Y, 645 miles = $7.74 (worse)

If I rate SQ mile at 3c each for J, 645 miles = $19.35 (ahead)

Ok, I need to sign up to VA, you are correct that it can work.

Perhaps an arithmetic refresher is what you're missing? ;)

No, not the numbers, but I have always considered Velocity as a useless exercise, especially when VA stopped flying to Hong Kong, as HKG was my transit point to Europe, so this idea that Velocity = useless stayed in my head.

These are close to useless to me, so I would only buy $50 worth just to pay for Boost Juice and Chatime.

How often does one buy something from JB or Good Guys? Once every 5 years for me. And I don't use Uber because of bad experiences, don't use Uber eats because of workers' rights issues.

I use Uber eats at least 3 times a week due to there being a plethora of options near to where I live. I’ll pay with the debit card and then use these cards to load the value into the Uber account and then switch payment method in order to get the initial amount refunded to my bank account. Easy points.

He's recycling his spending, getting CC points for buying GCs with bonus points and then converting them back to cash - rinse & repeat.
Sorry still not understanding. It's not any extra points is it? The only points earned are for buying the gift card using a credit card at the supermarket. Not sure how there's a conversion to cash anywhere.

Virgin money, for eg, would pay some 8 points for the first Uber eats purchase, but these would be taken back when the purchase was refunded.

Yep sorry should have been more clear. You can switch payment methods on any orders completed within 30 days.
How do you switch payment methods for a completed order with Uber ir Uber Eats? Surely the trip or meal is dine and dusted and payment done.

Whenever an offer like this comes along I’ll buy up a bunch of cards with the credit card, convert them to Uber cash and make my Uber purchases. No points are earned on Uber eats but the bonus points are earned by purchasing the gift cards, in this case $50 TCN shop card ears 1000 flybuys or 500 velocity points.

On occasion I’ll exhaust my Uber cash balance and pay for my Uber orders with the debit card. Uber allows for up to 30 days to convert transactions on the original payment method to any other payment method, eg, another credit/debit card or Uber cash.

You click on the order, view receipt and then scroll to the bottom which has the option to switch payment method. Will allow you to switch the payment method of any order that was processed within 30 days.
