Coles gift card offers

Is this the return of the targeted Coles GC offers?! (Either way I didn't get targeted, so it does seem to be just like old days) :(

I might be missing something but what is the point of maxing out this offer and buying 10 cards? Sure, you end up with an extra 10k points but doesn't the activation fee of each card make this offer a bit silly?

Use an Amex, spend where you can't (or surcharged)
Or
Use it to meet a credit card target

You also used to get 105 extra Flybuys for the purchase too but this may have changed

You will get the standard 105 FB points. I have never got an extra 105 points on top.
I said extra as my understanding was that GCs (Bunnings excepted) do not earn Flybuys outside of promotion periods (as per Flybuys T&Cs). Could be wrong as T&Cs not always consistently applied

PS: looking at other threads it does seem third party GCs do earn VA status credits-whatever that signifies now

5% discount purchasing these via gift cards - just like the good old WISH card inception days.

You can buy gift cards in coles with coles gift cards? I thought that has been shut off by both Coles and Woolworths a while back?

Everything except the Home and maybe the Uber looks aspirational at the moment
My local Coles has the banner for this out already which could catch the unwary out

Myer has a reasonable sale on at the moment
Looking to get some discount as I didn't have any Myer GCs tucked away
Tried to buy a CG&MGC using a 4% discounted Coles but system would not allow
Ended up ordering Myer 6% (net 5%) from HCF online using Amex Charge. Delivered within five minutes
[Realise that you can often buy Myer GC at better discounts but unprepared this time]

From Wednesday June 24, get 1000 bonus points when you buy a $50 or above:

Google Play
The Restaurant Choice
The Him Card
The Kids Card
City Beach gift card
Or a $100 Eftpos Gift Card

Note 1: Limit of 1 per gift card type
Note 2: Eftpos card has a $5.95 purchase fee

Looks like Coles gift card has disappeared from AGL Rewards :(

Correction: It's still there, but listed under ALL STATES and REDUCED to 4%!
Lower discount started today. Means this is now only 3% discount if paying via credit card. And there is still a $500 cap per month.

"NOTE: Reduction in Savings to 4%

Commencing 28th June and instigated by Corporate Coles, all Coles Gift Cards will now only be available at 4% in leiu of 5% discount. We will accept final order payments until 29th June. All orders paid after this date will be charged at 4% discount. Monthly maximum of $500 per month will still appy." (sic)

Some other sites that used to offer the 5% discount have also now changed to 4%. Eg. Member Advantage. Whilst others, including smartsalary, have now
stopped issuing Coles gift cards altogether.

Suncorp has also stopped issued Coles GCs a few months ago. Just checked, and it's still the same: "due to an issue with the provider, Coles eGCs are currently unavailable"
