HCF for instance has Coles for net 4% and can buy with Amex (there is a stated monthly limit which I have previously exceeded).
Most of the other online sellers only take Visa/MC
I have found Coles GCs so fiddly to use (as they don't scan reliably) that I rarely use
It's also very difficult/impossible to use Coles etc gift cards online. Last I checked Target could take online orders with Coles Group + Myer card, but Coles and Kmart wouldn't and all the online discount channels I know only sell specific targetedColes, Target, Kmart etc cards.
Also unlike some (at least until now) sales channels for Wish and Woolworths cards, it isn't processed by Coles directly so there's no supermarket bonus for Platinum Edge (and frequently Amex isn't accepted and Visa/MasterCard are surcharged).
Has anyone had an issues buying Coles gift Mastercards in bulk? I had a very frustrating experience today in my local Coles where I attempted to buy 10 Coles gift Mastercards amongst some other random shopping. After 4 cards where scanned at the self service a message came up to wait for assistance. The person manning the self serve then proceeded to take the remaining 6 cards off me and tell me how I've reached my limit due to potential credit card fraud! She stated loudly how she personally phones people to inform them and seems very surprised that I've not received the call. Its not the first time I've bought cards in bulk, especially this type so you can imagine my frustration when she's making me out to be some sort of fraudster in front of other shoppers. I was even paying with a Coles Mastercard credit card with my name on it linked to my flybuys account and I had other ID on me including license. I typically spend ~$2000 a month in this store alone for groceries so I'm quite annoyed by this. I've put in a complaint with the store, not that I expect them to do anything about it. I wasn't aware I can only buy four gift cards. I wasn't even allowed to pay for them and start a new transaction.

ive bought 10 at a time but I split them across multiple fb accounts, so ive never done 10 at a time, it sounds like the system just had a hissy fit if youve done it before,
also, do you still pay the $5 fee for the coles gift MC?

today I bought a coles mobile prepaid sim, I didnt know they are treated as gift cards, so the second I pressed the "split payment" button, the system had a huge hissy fit and staff assured me it was possible to split,
they tried it and it didnt work,
so they sent me to the manned check out, and it worked,
didnt know you could split gift card purchases at manned checkouts

I still pay the fee but I don't care about the fee. I've yet to find a prepaid visa or Mastercard where there is no fee. I've bought 10 cards on the single account before without issue, both at self serve and at the manned counters. I've also had the message pop up on the fourth but the person by the self serve checkouts has been able to clear it. I've also bought more than 60 jb cards at a single time split over multiple transactions without issue.

if youve done it before sounds like the system had a bit of hissy fit, I wouldnt worry too much about what store managers say, its in one ear out the other for me, ive been stopped at 2, ive had managers help me bring me as many as I want,
I just go to another store or go back the next day

I have 4 Coles stores very close to me and one of them has a very officious approach, the rest OK.
I haven't tried to buy more than one CGMC at a time for a long while (am intrigued as to your strategy) but my closest store is (fairly) happy for me to buy one with each of my family's FB cards when there is an offer on.
Thats the thing. On many occasions I have bought multiple cards in a single transaction both from Coles and Woolies. On this particular occasion I had the drama so its a first but I'm wondering if the policy changed as to how many Mastercards or Visas you can buy. Her demeanour was pretty bad and everyone paused what they were doing and starred. Was bloody awkward to say the least.
