I asked two different The Good Guys checkout staff and both told me they will only accept a maximum of 10 gift cards per transaction.

There are some cards that have a maximum of higher than $50 limit per card. The current Coles promotion "Home" cards(at 15% discount at present) are mostly $50 cards but there are a few $100 cards if you can find those. And the rival Woolworths is currently doing 10% discount on the Ultimate "Everyone" cards which have the highest limit of $500 per card.

Very helpful, thank you.

May I ask if it is true that customers can only purchase 5 gift cards as a group instead of 5 gift cards per person/customer
Pretty shoddy treatment for you but the manager was not right. Unfortunately there seems to be a fair amount of inconsistency from store to store. For eg, I was told by a cashier in the recent mastercard promo that they allowed and even encouraged (ie gave them the idea) customers to split into smaller groups to buy more than 5 cards.

Thanks Happy Dude for confirming that I am on the right. This makes me feel better as that means I didn't wrongly accuse the manager on duty of wrong interpretation of the T&C.

I have on many an occasion used more then 10 cards for purchases like a fridge, air conditioning, etc. just be polite and go on quiet times, (definitely not on the weekend and big sales days) and they are willing to cooperate

Thank you @Radio8tiv .
If anyone has found any Perth stores with plenty of 15% Home cards left please let me know, couldn't see one at the three I visited tonight!

Is this the right one? No JbHiFi emblem on packaging like the one depicted in the ad below? Old stock?
Correct one. Old packaging, but should still work at the stores listed on the website.

I’m clearly missing something here besides the headline discount.

Over on OB people seem to be especially keen of using these at JB Hi Fi and Officeworks.

As someone who does not need any tech or notebooks, can anyone suggest purchases I should consider?

Via PM if you’d prefer.

Will PM, but if people are talking about it on OzB (and in the way they're talking about it) the game might be up.

Note: From Victorian catalogue, may not be nationwide.

UPDATE: Can now confirm this is in the NSW catalogue as well.

Is that this one? Can’t find too much online about it.

Superb. I know that it's only a $5 profit if you use flybuys points for a discount at the till, but I like the optionality of virgin points so I personally find offers like this worthwhile.
If you buy the $100 Coles MC, you are buying 2000 FB pts (=1000 Velocity pts) for $5 ie $0.005 for 1 Velocity point which is a good deal esp if redeeming for J flights.
