One question I have is whether there is a purchase limit here? Looking at the T&Cs it seems to suggest that there is indeed a limit of 5 cards per Flybuys account, but perhaps I am missing something here.I went to one store in Sydney, took 10. The grandma staff member at check out said 5 only and took 5 off my hand
Went to another one, the staff said they haven't received any.

Yep it’s definitely 5 per account but I had this argument with a staff member a couple weeks back when I was trying to buy 10 cards across both mine and my brothers account. Staff member made it clear that she’d be watching to see if I returned for the other 5 as she wouldn’t let my buy more than 5, even if I returned later that day or the following day (which I did).Looking at the T&Cs it seems to suggest that there is indeed a limit of 5 cards per Flybuys account, but perhaps I am missing something here.
I told grandma that I saw the 5 cards per account, then she said no, 5 cards per person, then just took them off my hands. Like how a grandma would tell their grandkids offOne question I have is whether there is a purchase limit here? I had this exact same drama which I mentioned here a few weeks back with the TCN cards. <Staff Member> went on a rant about scams and scammers in front of other customers making me out to be some sort of scammer. These big supermarkets have been price gouging and scamming customers since forever. coughs just turned over a $1.1B profit and they’re going to tell me what I can spend my money on?I told grandma that I saw the 5 cards per account, then she said no, 5 cards per person, then just took them off my hands. For entertainment, could you tell us what did that staff member say about scam? Like how does buying gift card relate to scams?went on a rant about scams and scammers in front of other customers making me out to be some sort of scammer.
That’s the thing, she wouldn’t elaborate. I have no idea what the scam could be. Perhaps people are paying cash for cards and laundering dirty money? Maybe people are using stolen credit/debit cards to purchase gift cards? Whatever it is, it isn’t my problem. If they’re so problematic they should probably stop selling them altogether, or stop enticing people with bonus points promos. I’ve become known as a points collector amongst family, friends, work colleagues, etc. lost count of the amount of times I’ve made purchases at JB Hi-Fi, Apple, etc, for products that aren’t for me, but purchased by me for the sake of collecting points. Sounds like a lot of effort but it’s often the same people asking me how I can continue flying business/first multiple times a year! For entertainment, could you tell us what did that staff member say about scam? I think that's to protect the customer from being scammed, not accusing the customer of being a scammer ......The retail staff probably got warnings from higher ups to beware of "scammers" with no real explanation and are doing their best with what they've been told.
You'll need to go to the edge of civilisation. Coles Lilydale perhaps? Not sure if anyone else has had the chance to check yet but I visited several Coles this morning in Melbourne’s east and couldn’t find a single $250 either in the gift card area or when asking staff!
Good suggestion. It's only 1 hour 10 mins by train, and the Coles is only like 10 mins walk from station. You'll need to go to the edge of civilisation. Coles Lilydale perhaps?
Sadly Whittlesea only has an IGA. Coles Mernda would be my pick. Coles Wallan would be even better.Good suggestion. It's only 1 hour 10 mins by train, and the Coles is only like 10 mins walk from station.
But still, the question is, is Lilydale really the edge of civilisation? What about Whittlesea?
There are a lot of new housing in Wallan? Wouldn't there be a lot of people going there because of OzB?Coles Wallan would be even better.
Baulkham Hills would be sold out by now. Nothing at Macquarie Centre at 8 AM this morning, and still nothing at lunch time.No problem getting at Coles Zetland.
