Once again thinking of doing the comfort seat
Seat 1 flex fare can request upgrade
Seat 2 comfort seat paying cheap fare no upgrade required
Is that possible ?
Only want upgrade to business not PE

If upgrades were allowed when you have a comfort seat booked, what would you expect to happen to the extra fare paid for the comfort seat? They certainly wouldn't want to refund it - upgrades are not meant to cost the airline anything (besides food), they're just a perk that makes frequent fliers happy when there's unsold capacity. So this seems like a bit of a conundrum, and I can see why the easiest answer is simply that bookings with comfort seats aren't upgradeable.

I am happy to "lose" that seat going over.
However I had such a fiasco the only other time I did this I was wondering

You should be able to get the money back for the extra seat, less cancellations. fees. How the system views the extra seat in terms of processing upgrades i don’t know (does it see it as two pax, or just one?) It might be that you get completely passed over in the upgrade stakes by having an exst.

I think this might just end up being two sale seats and I don't even get a chance at upgrade :(
This is an unexpected jaunt and very quick trip lol

I dont know what happens here with upgrades.

However if they are short on seats and see you in 2 seats it might be easier to upgrade you to accomodate 2 passengers??
