Called up CBA on friday, they wouldn't budge with this offer, saying it's offered by Qantas and that only recipients of the email were eligible and they weren't in a position to make the offer to others on qantas' behalf.

others like myself have applied via the Qantas website directly to earn the 30k bonus from: Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Pay

on the Qantas website, just apply by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page that says you need to apply 'here'.

That's what I hat did. Was approved instantly so will wait until I spend the required annoy by then ring up for the 30,000 QFF points.

offer shouldn't be just for those who received the email invite.

the offer is publicly advertised on the official Qantas website. Print out the terms and conditions on the Qantas website and screenshot everything.

All the 30k points should be on your account by 31st of January 2014.

* Offer only applies to the recipients of relevant emails. To be eligible for the bonus points offer, you must apply online via this page and be approved for a Commonwealth Bank Platinum Awards credit card by 31 December 2013 to earn 15,000 Qantas Points. You will earn an additional 15,000 Qantas Points when you spend A$500 on purchases with your new Platinum card by 11:59pm AEDT 31 January 2014. It will take 90 days for the bonus points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account provided that you are not in breach of the Conditions of Use for the Commonwealth Bank Platinum Awards credit card and your Account remains open.

So if you do the $500 spend in January you may not see your points till Easter.

Ah, Thanks for picking that up

Jeepers, 90 days is slow! Bankwest posts so quickly, I wish they would integrate their two divisions more.

They also say in their conditions that the account must remain open to get the bonus points so I suspect the reason for the lengthy delay is to prevent those from applying for the card, getting the bonus points right away and then immediately cancelling the card to get the annual fee refunded.

I applied for this card last month. I did it via the link on the Qantas website.

The cards were sent on 27 December. The contract stated that the annual fee was $250. I rang the (Australian) call centre to enquire what deal I was on, and to cut a long story short, I was told that there is no deal that offers both 30,000 QF and half price annual fee. This was after she checked with her supervisor.

So, earlier this week I went to a branch armed with my screenshot printouts. Again, to cut a long story short, the next day I was emailed confirmation that I would get the deal as offered. Yay! I then activated the cards.

Shortly after I activated the cards I realised that at no point in the process had I given them my QFF number. This surprised me, as part of the deal is "automatic opt-in to Qantas Frequent Flyer direct as your rewards program". I rang the Commonwealth rewards number to give them my QFF number and was told that I had to pay $10 to opt in (which didn't seem very automatic). I queried this but couldn't be bothered arguing.

Have others had this waived or did you have to pay the $10?

I'm 2 months in and so far half the fee hs been refunded and the $10 charged (both on the last statement). I'm now waiting for the next stateement which should come with the bonus points.

Has anybody here received an email from either CBA or Qntas offering this 30K bonus? Or did you just do what I did, see it on the QF website and follow the links?

I didn't personally receive the email. One of my family members did, but I applied anyways following the direct link on the qantas website. Followed every instruction on the Qantas website as it was a general public offer as well at the time.

Ditto. The $10 had to be charged in our cases to be opted into QFF points.

Don't hold your breath waiting for these points. Call centre just tole me the T&C state the points will be credited 6-8 weeks after the 31st Jan. I don't believe thet=y say that at all but can't be bothered arguing. So all up, a wait of around 5 months. They obviously hope you will come to love and use the card during that time.

Well they charged me the half price annual fee, so I'm hoping the points will credit automatically.

30,000 Bonus Points hit my QFF account this morning along with my regular statement points…. Sweet… Tips me over 300,000 points.. Now what to do with them.

Good to know! When did you apply and/or activate the card? I am still waiting for my 30,000... I had half the fee refunded after my first statement came through and was charged the full fee..
