Hi All

I have a questions about the complimentary Qantas airport lounge passes which you receive if you have a high rewards Credit Card.
I have two passes, which I am intending to use when I possibly go to Brisbane (From Melbourne) later in the year.
My only question, is will there be an issue if I bring in my young child (currently 6 weeks old)
I have seen some other forums talking about it, but the answers are a bit confusing, also some of the posts are a few years old.
Some mention that it isn't an issue if you are part of Qantas club, but might be an issue with the complementary passes. Others have said they would unlikely stop you or separate your family, but it depends on how busy they are and if the staff member is in a good mode.

If anyone has had any recent experience with this, can you please let me know
Thanks

There is an old thread on this here

I really don't think QF would reject an infant, but unfortunately they are only consistent in their inconsistency

Maybe you could ask via Twitface or online help and then print the reply off to take with you

So, Craig,
Here's what it comes down to....

As per terms and conditions...on back of card, it would suggest you need an extra pass.

That being said, I have spoken to a BNE Senior Lounge Host today and their point was that ,

Yes, Firstly, Terms and conditions on the complimentary card prevail.

Secondly, her opinion was that for such a youngster, excluding factors such as environmental emergencies, overly full lounges, or other unxpected circumstances...

....Then there should be no problem at all with you entering as 2 people on 2 passes with an "infant" of such a young age.

That being said, yes it is up to the Host your come across at time of entry.

My, and her suggestion is that if you come across a speed bump on attempting entry then it would be worthwhile to request the attendance of the Senior Lounge Host which is onsite.

But, Basically, you should be fine.

More importantly, be curteous, kind, and compliant if need be.

(Maybe query the Senior Lounge host as to the possibilty she could comp u a couple of passes for the return trip?) Very CHeeky, as is against policy, but they have a load of passes behind the desk, so not a biggie , always worth a crack Hey ;)

You'll be fine.

Hi all,

Just an FYI on the qantas club access.. Went to the lounge after checkin on aus day (26th jan) and the attendant looked at my pass for a total of 2 seconds and let us in, not sure thry really cared that much...So no issues at all.

I have some paper passes from the westpac cc i got in 2016 which i will try and use at the brisbane qantas club, when i return on Friday.. At least the return trip is in the evening and they will have beer....

I just have to flash my QF SG and I get QP "welcome".
Some staff (dragon/dragoness) will want to scan the card, some as you have noticed just have a look at the card.
Guess as has been mentioned on here, there is no consistency in regards to QF staff at the QP counters.
Sometimes they can be strict as, sometimes, they will just look up at what you hold, and thats it, please come in and enjoy.
I guess that maybe too they are stricter when it comes to the most of the J lounge.
Edit: keep a keen eye on what comes out from the back, don't stray too far, once the "seagulls" see a good thing, they will jump straight onto it.
Stay as close as you can to kitchen, and see what comes out. If its good, be a seagull.
