If you need it sometimes, then that's a good enough reason to want it.

Maybe if the OP's partner had have logged in to their QFF account each day and checked they may have seen that they'd been comp'd and been able to cancel the status run? Unfair to blame Qantas if there are ways you can check yourself IMO.

It was checked the day before the run and no comp at that point but the comp that was sent out was dated the day of the run, a Sunday.
