Comprehensive Travel Insurance

Hi AFF Members

Can anyone recommend a real good comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers these items please?

Evacuation insurance,
Medical expenses,
Loss of luggage,
Cruise and land content,
Airfare cancellation charges,

Travel within your home state, including,
local taxes and train travel,

For over 60 years of age couple

Not using American Express or Dinger Club

For travel in Australia, Canada & New Zealand

Hi Lewis, I have been doing extensive research and there are slim pickings at the moment if you want to travel on a Cruise internationally. I finally managed to find an Allianz Policy which included a "cruise pack" and covered medical costs if you got covid overseas (many companies don't) insure for this. I was also able to add an amount for cancellation expenses (I chose $10,000) but that will only cover cancellation costs if I or my travel companion get covid. It won't cover border closures etc. My "Comprehensive package for 1 person for about 32 days was $312 but that was for Europe only. Including the USA would obviously more expensive. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Whilst you can add cruise cover there is this not so nice exception:

"Cruise related COVID-19 benefits Some benefits do not apply to claims involving travel on a multi-night cruise. For example, there is no cover for medical expenses if You are diagnosed with COVID-19 on or after a cruise. See pages 46-49 for details of what cover is included"

Covid cover varies greatly, most policies aren't offering cruise cover at the moment but there are exceptions.

I ended up with my go to policy Worldcare which is capped at $250/night I can't really find this in the PDS anywhere. Could you point out where you might have read this? Currenly tossing up between covermore / worldcare / world2cover

Ponant has their own insurance product; but I can't really tell if this means you don't need cruise cover with the rest of your insurance?

Not something I have any experience in, I've always had a great annual travel insurance so didn't have to think about it again!
