I will be staying at the Sydney Hilton for the next couple of nights - it will be interesting to see what upgrade I get. (Hoping it will be an exec room as I have received previously).
Will report back when I check in.

Not sure if this is really an improvement in hhonors-sounds more like a QFF enhancement.One of the reasons io left hilton was because of an increasing incidence of nickel and diming.The way these changes are worded seems to me to increase the chance of this.
Wont affect me as I now just use HGIs and HIs.If I were to stay in a full service Hilton I would be booking an executive room anyway.

Well, we have arrived at the Hilton Sydney and received an upgrade from the cheapest room to an exec room on the 40th floor.

Interestingly, the standard letter given at check-in has not changed and describes the 'old' MyWay benefits.
It will be interesting to see when the hotel adopts the new ones.

BTW - The internet in the lounge is really s l o w ...

As HH Gold, so this is definitely a devaluation for me. That is a bummer as I was going to switch to Hilton from IHG for my stays.


However, I've just completed my 3 paid nights stay at Hilton Adelaide for Aussie Day "long weekend" (26-29 Jan). I got upgraded to Executive Floor room AND now they also provided me with free full buffet breakfast downstairs. Apparently this is their new policy for Exec Floor guests (it didn't happen last time I stayed there in Dec 2011), but I do not know whether this will continue.

While I appreciate HHonors's has apparently tried to improve the program, I see two issues. First, as noted, there's no longer a guarantee for Diamonds to receive an executive floor room. That said, in my experience, nine times out of 10 there is practically difference in rooms per se, other than maybe a slightly bigger size;

I actually find at HOP that I would prefer not to have an Exec floor room - the TVs are wall mounted and much harder to hook up the iPad...

I guess time will tell as to whether the upgraded room range will prove better for Diamonds - but the opportunity to upgrade to suites plus the extra 1,000 points will be a minor but nice benefit. I'm sure we'll hear about it if Hilton start denying Executive Floor upgrades under this new policy!

Now that you mention it, neither did I for the 2-4 Feb 2012. Do we know what this bonus is listed as?

The only 1000 points I received was for the any weekend anytime bonus but I'm not entirely sure what the 2012 Systemwide offer of 2000 points is??

Diamond VIP 2011 bonus - 2341
50% base point bonus - 2341
2012 systemwide offer - 2000
Any weekend bonus - 1000

Hi all, I did not receive my 1000pts either as a diamond for my last 3 stays this CY, first was 5/6th of jan. I just called Hhonors and they credited my account. So it appears their IT department hasn't caught up with the hhonors marketing department on the recent changes.

"Suite Upgrades" I can take or leave (seriously - you can't eat/drink a suite/view) - as long as Guaranteed Executive lounge access and Continental Breakfast remain.

Actually, there were three until last year when Interntet access was made a standard benefit. Until then it was:

1. Upgrade/breakfast/Exec. lounge access or
2. 1000 HHonors points per stay or
3. Complimentary High Speed Internet Access

So really now only the two.

So I have a stay at a Hilton coming up this week, and late last week I received an email about the Upcoming stay. I am a Diamond HH. In the email, (towards the bottom of it), it has the MyWay property benefits, and only lists "Complimentary Wireless Internet". Does it usually mention room upgrades or Executive Lounge Access, or are these only determined at check in ?

Executive lounge access (where one exists) for a Diamond and breakfast is a given, along with 1000 HHonors points and Internet - upgrades can vary.
