Due to the issues I'm having with the QF Multi-City booking engine it looks like I'm going to have to change from EK to RJ in DXB to get to CAI instead of flying EK on to CAI direct - dammit. Does anyone know what the situation is when changing from EK to RJ in DXB - need to collect bags? Can stay in the transit area and not need to clear customs etc? I can see that this is going to be damn awful - but the multi-city search engine isn't allowing any other option other than change to RJ to fly the DXB-CAI leg - via AMM!

Can’t you try your luck with the call centre and get them to book the DXB-CAI leg on EK?
RJ flies out of T1 so if you have to collect bags you will need to change terminals
