Connecting time in Singapore

Yesterday and today saw three flights each day leaving from E gates . I was on 616 last night from a "near" F gate - F30- which incidentally took 11 mins to reach from the Qantas Lounge (no skytrain - but there was no one using the travellators that run between t1 & t2 to slow me down!

That's the flight I'm going to be on - the 1915hrs MH616. Coming off QF35. Will be tight but I'm HLO. Hopefully in about a month it will be at a nearer gate

I am a bit confused after reading this ....
You can definitely use the transfer desks for 3K. No need to collect luggage and checkin again.

The only time you need to clear immigration and checkin again is for overnight connections with checked luggage. If you are staying in the transit hotel then let your luggage go through to keeper and collect luggage in the morning and checkin again.

I suspect the other LCCs are also covered although I am not certain.

Scoot and I think Tiger - need to purchase this service

JohnK, would you characterise the transfer desks as just satellite checkin desks manned by agents for each airline represented at the particular transfer desk/lounge

Yes. Most transfer desks handle multiple airlines.

OK, a hundred Sorry's in advance if this was answered, I read through the previous 3 pages and might have missed the response that applies to our situation.

We fly LHR to SIN on SQ317 arriving at 0750, and connect to SQ221 departing at 2050 (12 hours and a bit). We were planning on taking a nap at (one of) the transit hotels....

1) Can we go right to the hotel in T3 (I assume we arrive at T3 as we depart from T3)
2) Will our bag be checked through to SYD?
3) Can we leave the airport? We were going to go have a late lunch and a swim before coming back and hitting up the First Lounge/Private Room.

1) Yes. If T3 is booked you can access the transit hotels in T1 and T2 as well, airside, no problems, just takes and extra 10-15 mins to get to the hotels in the other terminals.
2) Yes.
3) Yes, unless of course your passport is from a country that requires a visa to enter Singapore (Australian and developed country passports are fine).

Thanks for that!

Best thing I learnt this year!

What about QF to MH?

you can through check to your final MH destination from your initial QF port with it being a pure OW transit. (Rules might have changed today with this being optional)

1. T3 transit hotel is airside, no need enter Singapore just for that. Note that the Crowne plaza is not airside, and with that being the exception, you need to enter Singapore for that.

2. Through checked yes.

3. You can access TPR upon arrival even if you wanted to before hitting town. As a SQ transit pax, you are eligible to claim S$40 worth of changi vouchers at the general counter, and you also qualify for the $1 Singapore town tour as well. Yes you may leave the airport, just like any other airport in the world if you hold the necessary visas and have enough time to venture out. SIN security is also at the gate, so no need to think of a random answer for transit security as there ain't any. Arrival and Departure areas are mixed at SIN too if you were wondering ;)
