Hi community,

I am travelling with a family ( parents plus 2 kids) and will be arriving into SYDNEY at 7.40am on SQ. On a separate ticket, we have a QF flight to catch to Adelaide departing at 10.20am. Is this connection possible? We are flying in from Frankfurt. Tks muchly.

My experience is not exactly the same but I was issued boarding passes and my baggage was checked through all the way when I flew SIN-CGK on SQ and CGK-SYD-BNE on a separate QF ticket. You'll still need to pick up your baggage in SYD...

Thanks. Yes, understood will have to pick up baggage in Sydney. Wonder if there is enough time and whether we can use the qantas transfer desk just outside T1 international terminal.

No harm trying if you already have a boarding pass and bag tag...

Boarding pass I have (internet check in) but bag not tagged.

Let the SQ desk know when checking in your bag at FRA. I even called SQ prior to my flight to provide them with details of my QF booking...

Yup SQ will interline and through check between two seperate PNR's/etickets and even across alliances. What an contrast to most oneworld airlines.

That's a reasonable connection assuming SQ on time (which is probably likely or close to) and no major snafus at arrivals.

You absolutely can use QF transfer at SYD - just check in there - they don't care who you flew in on as long as you have a QF domestic flight you are going to. Bags checked and transferred there.

I've actually done this myself a few years ago from that very same SQ flight and connected to QF to MEL.

Obviously if you are delayed by SQ or immi post your ADL flight all bets are off, but I imagine the agents at QF transfer have seen it all before and will do their bet to get you/family to ADL ASAP without too much fuss (but I honestly doubt this would be a situation you would be in)
