I cannot answer that - it is hot and miss - I have had Diamond benefits honoured when booking through 3rd party and other occasions not honoured.

No, it's not really an option at this hotel, unless you are in the suites. You'd just end up walking halfway across the hotel to your room.

Diamonds can access the lounge, and checkout there if you want, but I wouldn't go there for checkin.
