Gents,

I was just looking at Hilton Bora Bora for our honeymoon next year. 5 days early Janurary.

Most rates were coming up as $600+ a night for any room but I came across a garden villa for $78AUD/night.

It's no over water bungalow but this was to hard to pass up.

Look for Serenity Package

Cheers.

Please keep in mind that food is very expensive, your looking at $200 a day per couple minimum.

Given that myself and three friends are now coming on your honeymoon do we get an invite to your wedding? :):)

So to the burning question....if we have a booking at this rate, do Hilton have to honour it? Or can they just cancel it?

Hi Hummel,

I also booked the serenity package for 78aud per night before they removed this great deal. But i booked for later 2014. So it looks like you could be the guinea pig on this to see if they will honour the rate. Have they contacted you on this and whether they will honour it?

Also on FT there is dedicated thread on the hotel and ways to get confirmed cash upgrade (not nor1 upgrade on arrival) to OWB. But would need to contact the hotel for this.

No contact as of yet, but booking still there.

Yes I saw that thread after I selected nor1 for OWB, whoops. Maybe I can cancel and then deal directly with them...

I was offered 9500xpf per night to upgrade to standard OWB by Nor1. But after reading FT thread we could get better deals than that. But of course it would involve contacting hotel and of course we need to wait for their reaction on such a good offer.

Everything is expensive in French Polynesia. However there are tricks to keep the cost lower (I do not mean low, just lower). I went to Moorea twice before (on another great offer from Hilton) so luckily I have some experience on this. Let me know if you need any info.

Just recieved an email from Hilton cancelling the rate, the booking has now disappeared from HHonors account.

They are now offering me the exact same rate that is bookable on the website with an upgrade to OWB. No discount at all.

No good to hear this. Looks like i will have to wait until they send me the email and I will decide what to do.... Wondered how many people actually booked this rate?

I received the following email minutes after receiving the cancellation emails for my booking..... Interesting that they are now saying it is due to a internet glitch...

Dear Guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your interest toward our property, the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa.

Concerning your booking for 5 nights in our property, a technical issue unfortunately occurred during your booking and the system was not able to perform your reservation correctly.
Strangely, it seems that your booking still appeared for a while as active on the Hilton.com website despite the internal error system occurred, and then we received a cancellation report so there is now no more bookings active for you in the system at the moment.
In order to be sure that this system “bug” did not prevent you from booking your stay in our property, and that the cancellation is not one of your wish, I prefer to give you all the information directly:

- For a stay in January 2014 for 5 nights for 2 persons
- In a Garden Villa with Kingsize bed
- With the Serenity Package including : 4 relaxing spa treatments (1 duo massage + 2 beauty cares from a dedicated selection) and Daily Buffet breakfast
- The price per night would be of 101 500xpf per night without tax which means a Global VAT included proforma of:

And even if these technical issues are independent from our agreement, we would like, in order to compensate the disturbance, to offer you a COMPLIMENTARY UPGRADE in a Panoramic Hillside Villa or in an Overwater Villa at your convenience.

Awaiting for your answer, I remind you that we are not holding any room for you at the moment,

Best regards

So is that now over $1000A a night?

When the IC at Bora Bora popped up on Pointsbreaks it did not last long, and is still a favorite using points for many given the normal cost.

Presumably the 78 was supposed to be 780?
