So for that cost of points and cash, I could buy two lifetime Qantas Club memberships - Will they put the second one on hold until the first one expires  .
Could be useful in one scenario.

What if an agnostic converts to Christianity and is "born again"? Does he need to acquire another life membership?

Love how the topic went from Qantas club membership to religion.

Hmm... The Qantas Club is now a religious cult

Dave
Yea, thou shalt feed in QP's on the remnants of party pies and pastizzis, then sup on the leftover kabana and mini dolmathies. All while being internally annointed by purifying draughts of HP's.

When one's flight is delayed by 2 hours or more and the QP staff are all on overtime, thou shallst meditate longingly at the toaster, set up for tomorrow and pray the staff shall see the light and distribute some bread - Tonight!

(at least that was the sort of evangelical experience I had last night :? )

I had a very religious experience in a QP before.....

There were 47 of us and we to share a loaf of bread and a piece of fish. All worked out OK.

I have been told by my HR department that salary sacrificing for a Qantas Club membership is not an option.

Am I able to claim a tax deduction through my tax return?

N.B. I would be a new member, so there would be the joining fee and annual fee.

Generally you may claim the proportion of the expense that you use for work related activities. SO if you have 4 trips for work in a year and one for personal reasons, you may claim 80% of the annual fee.

Can it be taken as unprofessional advice and thus we can take you to court?

Note that generally a lifetime membership can only be depreciated at 10% per year over 10 years.

Of course, thinking of my most recent flight, which was an award flight with Cathay Pacific, I would not have been able to access lounge even if I was a Qantas Club member as I would only be Bronze. Do you always need to show your airline ticket when entering the lounge? Any chance of a bronze member with a Qantas Club card being able to enter a Qantas lounge when flying on Cathay Pacific?

As far as I'm aware, you would have been able to access the QC Club (or partner club) as long as you flash your QC membership card and are travelling out on a ticket with a QF number (even if it's part of a RTW ticket and you're on a partner airline). Your FF membership level has no bearing on your entitlement to enter if you're a current QC member.
