I thought flying Virgin would avoid delays and most certainly flight cancellations. However the past few weeks having been travelling to and from Sydney proved otherwise, further last night's flight from Sydney to Gold Coast was cancelled due to "insufficient hours" for the crew members.

Whats wrong with Virgin these days? It can't be down to a single airport as I've heard at least two flights from the Gold Coast were also cancelled.

It's issues with the upgrade of the ILS in Sydney. Every airline is having issues. Air services Australia expects it to be fixed by Wednesday.

And Brisbane - every aircraft going through Brisbane is delayed these days - the knock on effect being serious delays across the network each day.

I blame the government.

Crew hours are very strict, and rightfully so. Imagine the uproar if there was an accident and the crew was working outside the allowed hours. Hard to really blame the airline for being responsible, and complying with the rules.
