Just to let you all know that UA will cease to exist by the end of this year and that Continental Airlines will be your new carrier (check the livery).

Good luck!

Just quickly, the upcoming livery has been revised slightly. The new font and the gold line along the fuselage look much better.

Think it looks great, very classy, not like the current fad of curvy blobs or vague looking shapes and waves which will need changing again in 10 years.

Could be a good fit if they don't have a melt down trying to get the merge right.

United, Continental update post-merger look for their planes

United and Continental today unveiled what the companies called a "refinement" to "visual branding for the new global airline that will result from the proposed merger between the two airlines."In other words, the airlines announced a change to what the logo and aircraft will look like once the companies officially combine.
As part of that announcement, the carriers distributed this image of what one of the airline's Boeing 777s will look like once decked out in the livery of the post-merger airline.

Though if what I overheard in Oslo last night is correct there are still a few problems to be sorted. At the next table were a senior CO captain talking to 2 UA pilots. The CO fellow was unhappy with the deal he was getting and talked about joining the class action that CO pilots are thinking of taking.Problem is that many of UA's senior pilots accepted redundancy whilst they were in Chapter 11 so that say a UA pilot in the top 20% of seniority has several years less flying than a similiarly placed pilot in CO.

Justice Department Approves CO, UAL Merger

The U.S. Justice Department has approved United Airlines’ proposed merger with Continental Airlines, a decision that effectively allows for the creation of the world’s largest carrier.

The decision was announced late Aug. 27 just hours after Continental unveiled a deal to lease 18 slot pairs at its Newark Liberty International Airport hub to Southwest Airlines to resolve unspecified issues raised by Justice.

I quite like it myself, but it is really just Continental's scheme with the word 'United' instead. :p

Nice clean look .. v smart :)

Shouldn't date too quickly, unlike other, more colourful liveries...

Seeing it on an actual a/c, it is starting to grow on me… ;)

I think that '57 looks particularly good. The '47 fleet should look good too. While they last (once the '87s and the 350s start rolling out, the '47s will be an endangered species at United).
