We hadn't had anything since breakfast so ate in the Hilton.A really good dinner buffet for 325DKK.Mrsdrron just had pasta with mushrooms but it was very good.Breakfast buffet is also pretty reasonable.
Now I did wonder whether we were taking the loyalty thing to far staying at the Hilton at the airport.I am pleased to report it really isn't a problem. We each got a 72 hour city pass good on trains, metro and bus.Cost 195DKK ~ $40.The first day we caught the train into the Central station.Really good ride. Then walked towards the centre of the city.Tivoli is right at Central station but we didn't really wish to go there. So just random buildings on our walk-

Lovely pics. Sorry to hear about Mrs Drron's fall. She was lucky not to have had any injuries. I remember tripping over a threshold in Florence on the morning we were leaving and spraining my ankle quite badly. Not a pleasant remainder of the holiday.

And glad to see a sunset to two in there.

Falls are such silly things. I fell so many times on our last trip in Europe. Fell heavily into a dinghy in Venice. Tripped on the last step of a stationary escalator again in Venice (same day) on the way to the cruise. Got some bruises and cuts on that one. Then in Greece. They have slippery marble edging the footpath. I lost track of how many times I fell in Athens. One minute I was standing the next I was on the ground. Even in sneakers! Thankfully not me having episodes but not used to their footpaths.

You were lucky too Pushka. At our age (ha ha - I know you're a baby compared with me) it's easy to come off the worse for wear. Maybe not even at our age as Dr LtL (daughter) tripped over when she was jogging and broke her ankle (second time - first a fall from her horse) and Mr LtL broke his ankle when he slipped on some stones on a river bank when visiting his sister.

Absolutely. As we get older it's all downhill from here (literally)! I missed a step in Vienna at Xmas (sober, no snow) and lunged down three steps for a torn quadriceps femorus tendon, repair op with titanium screws next day on Boxing day, 5 days in hospital, 5 days recovery in hotel and $32,000 insurance bill (complementary Zurich TI on Earth Black which they paid in full reasonably promptly without complaint).

I think you posted that on AFF as I seem to remember reading about it (or am I having a senior moment?)

The canal area would be wonderful if no tourists!

But what better way to finish the walk than at Copenhagen's major Department store-Magasin De Nord.

Actually now after 2pm and the showers getting heavier and more frequent so time to go back to the Hilton.

You really need to spill how you get more than 5 photos drron.

Yes, but I thought it was worth another comment in the context. It was a memorable experience!

Yes I agree. Glad you made a good recovery. I remember reading it at the time and thinking how awful for you. I like the way you call it a memorable experience- I would think memorable for all the wrong reasons.

As a R44 trainer once said to me, "The memorable experiences are the ones you walk (or crawl in my case) away from."

Check out the little dot at the bottom between pictures ;)

How does that differ from the Snip technique, RF? (Cut out the mystery stuff - it's Sunday morning and I don't want to think too hard ;) - if at all :)).

I'm in the process of doing a long-delayed TR on a Kimberley coast cruise I did back in 2012 that some folks may find of interest or useful if planning similar.

DRRON and MRSDRRON
Thank you for your wonderful blog. I got very involved and finally had to join the Australian Frequent Flyer. The joke is we live in Montana. I began following you on your trip to Myanmar!
You did ask if you had followed the Loyalty route a big far and I would have to say yes. In Oslo, we stayed at THE Theif hotel and loved it plus Hotel 7 in Copenhagen. We were very pleased that we got away from the Loyalty route for those fun places. We also enjoyed the Hilton Copenhagen Airport hotel.

I hope you are going to blog about the cruise!

Welcome Josephone.Unfortunately I have had a 4 day holiday from the internet mainly to catch up on sleep. So the report is far from live now but the cruise is definitely going to be part of it.

As to photos I am technologically challenged.I worked out a way to post photos here.It used to also work on Cruise Critic and Milepoint but now doesn't.Got a work around for Cruise Critic though.Never been able to post pics on FT.Had one of their camera gurus try and help out but he gave up saying how I do it on AFF is impossible to explain. But it works for me!

Now finally back to the TR.That night we had a booking for Formel B-a 1 star Miichelin restaurant. The weather had worsened-heavy rain, strong winds and very cold.We got the metro to Fredricksburg then a bus to about 400 metres from the restaurant. The umbrella fortunately didn't give way but we were pretty wet by the time we reached the restaurant. We very soon felt better with the friendly and efficient service and some great food.First the menu. Each dish is 130DKK~$A25.

Mrsdrron had beef tartar which I cut off the bottom of the first page whilst I had the ceviche of cod with rhubarb which tasted fantastic.Mrsdrron thought hers was amongst the best beef tartar she had had-

Next I had an extra drom the first page-the Danish beef jerky.Wondered how this was going to work but a perfect marriage of tastes. Then we both had the lobster-a bigger portion than we were expecting-
