Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

Did a Woolies shop for mum in law. Im use to Coles so found the check out a bit annoying, having to keep clicking things to accept bags when theres no choice, you get them/have to pay for them and no instruction to click to accept. There were a few sections i had to click to accept but there was no instruction to do it so worry if others having issues.

Most annoying thing is you cant amend the order if she decides she needs something else. You have to cancel entire order and redo. Not that she wanted much so its a very small order.

We are missing just getting away from our half acre. Mrscove did an order by email to IGA. The river is glassy this morning and the construction cranes at Curtin Uni are still lit up from last night.

Went to Bunnings yesterday hoping to get my usual winter veggie seedlings. Nothing but Kale and parsley left on the shelves (and one stray mini cabbage which I snapped up). Do the panic growers not realise it takes weeks/months for veggies to be ready to harvest?

Yep. We use to have 4 dedicated trucks for Sydney per day for a particular product to Bunnings. We're now up to 14 per day and need more trucks to get what we can out until the next lock down.

Seedlings trolleys are being followed by customers down the aisle. Im wondering whats happening with all the ready to pick veggies & herbs we're growing at one of our field stations - going to ask about it at todays meeting. Im actually worried it will be raided overnight. Not that we will fight people for it, just dont damage the property.

Didnt bother adding toilet paper to mum in law order as we gave her some of what we had. Would like some serviettes but will have to make do at this stage as we're not going to the shops. I have fabric here, I can make napkins if I have to.

Yes after the first response to my post re availability, I checked Woolies online and saw there were none expect some more expensive types. I bought a large box several weeks ago (as I use even in normal times and was running low) - need to ration them now.

Re gardening or hardware during a full lock down. Keep an eye on Costco as they might start stocking items they havent previously and as they are grocery, they will be open.

Not that Im going to Costco any time soon but if youre desperate, worth joining a Costco Facebook group and ask them in the next few weeks as you find new things to do around the house.

Pasta is easy to make if you have flour and eggs. And butchers dont seem to have been hit as hard as the supermarkets, we had no issues getting mince.

From smug indifference a week ago , Bunnings was a picture of covid care yesterday.
The trade counter has barriers everywhere, only two staff behind the counter, a roaming cleaner disinfecting over and over.
I asked how to clean my fingers after entering my pin and they had to scramble for a dettol wipe.. said they could not source sanitiser atm.

Local produce store had 0 seedlings.. alla same Bunnings ...much to swmbo's disgust….

When I go shopping now I just take my phone - have my Amex and mastercard on Apple Wallet and then put phone in bag and wash when I get home.

I always said I could never be a Bunnings employee. Coldest place in the country in winter and hottest in summer plus dealing with the masses. Its a tough job but if you meet them at expos/training, they are generally very proud of being Red Shirts and enjoy their jobs and want to be knowledgeable to server the customer better.

I couldnt do it, same with Coles ect. I just dont have what it takes

I think if youre a retired tradie and you want to work a couple of days during the week, its a good one. Clock on, do your hours, clock off. But onliy week days because of us idiots that want a "thingy" on the weekend. But still way too hot and cold during the worse of the seasons.
