Indeed, I get the impression Aussies are too busy emptying supermarket shelves to go on holiday!
cheers skip

Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

Only thing missing from my woolies order this week was tissues....they had heaps the week before, I'm surprised they are still having trouble with stock.
They’re meant to substitute though when an item you’ve ordered is out of stock. That would suggest they didn’t have a single box of tissues available.

Toilet tissue. Would that be a tissue substitute? 🤣

Woolies has chorizos on sale at half price so bought 2kgs to freeze for use, for delivery today. Just got text that theyre out of stock :(

Its all I wanted, the other times just puffed up the order to the min.

With Woolies/Coles the substitution is optional - I generally ensure no substitution of a product with "similar" by ticking tthe appropriate box.

Nah, it disintegrates too easily.

I do too, but its not optional at the moment due to limited product availability. I'm particular about my brands, but I would have been ok with any tissues.

I just haven't had a lot of success with online deliveries. There are some breads I just don't like and usually my choice is substituted. But for something like detergent I don't care so much. Or tissues or toilet paper but there is a type that would see me banished if I got that - it's the "corrugated" type that isn't liked here. Or I get milk that is close to expiry date, the product I want isnt available so in the end I have to go shopping anyway. A couple of years ago the Farmers Direct started up. Unfortunately they started delivery during a heat wave of 40+ and they delivered at something like 2am but we didn't realise until around 9am. And the ice just hadn't hung in there so I was reluctant to use the dairy foods that had come with that order. Maybe I just like going shopping.....

I use click and collect, so I can grab anything I missed or was left out of the order. But it saves me time which is handy with a one year old.
They also shouldnt substitute with a lower priced product, theyre meant to go up but not charge the difference.

@Katie my Instagram feed has had quite a few of those wholesalers selling direct. We don't eat huge amounts of meat but I have to say some of those packs have look tempting

We've found it a good pack overall - there's a few things we wouldn't necessarily buy, but hey, nothing too strange (or we wouldn't have bought the pack). Last night was chicken schnitzel, tonight will be hamburgers, and tomorrow night we'll use the jalapeno sausages in a beetroot risotto (for the adults). The most tricky to deal with was steaks that were 300gm each - a much larger portion per person than we'd normally buy, and a bit too small to just eat one and halve it. (#FirstWorldProblem :P )

Ive enjoyed the Insta ads so Ive been checking out other option, one butcher/smokehouse looked good but every pack has Lamb and nope. I dont like cooking that at all (once in 20yrs Ive cooked it) and I dont eat it.

I tried out Bunnings "drive and collect" service, where you don't leave the car and they bring your items out to you and put it in the boot. Worked really well. It'd be great if they continue with that.

I got a big delivery of fresh tortellini last week from Alligator pasta. Hoping to order from That's Amore Cheese next week.

Well our second delivery of Ashgrove cheese and butters have arrived.
Into the freezer they go. Handy thing to stock up
Did you like the Amazeballs or not your thing? Hubby likes the disgusting weird flavours but I prefer just plain havarti (not that I have them often, maybe once every few months).
