Corporate Cardmember benefit

Finally I received call from AMEX. The lady said this promotion had been finished last year and they would update website soon. They lady offered to waive one year annual fee which is my gold charge card $130.

when you receive card, if not fee free, do not activate card and cancel straight way. That's not charge annual fee.

Not sure whether this is standard but I have the option to get the Platinum charge card for free, amongst a range of others. Whilst the idea of getting a $900 card for free is appealing there's nothing I would use it for given I already have an Edge which has a points structure better suited to my spending. The Platinum Reserve does appeal given the free flight. I understand you get a free Platinum Reserve when you get a Platinum charge card - would it also be the case here if I apply for the Platinum Charge?

I applied online but nothing ever happened - I will call up and let you know how it goes - hopefully I get a fee reduction on my $99 edge card!

Found they had updated benefits: 'Keep your company and personal expenses separate by applying for a companion American Express Charge Card. The annual Card fee will be waived for the American Express Gold Card and the American Express Card as long as you remain a Corporate Cardmember. The annual fee will be discounted to $750 for The American Express Platinum Card as long as you remain a Corporate Cardmember.'

Emailed customer service and asked to waive my gold card annual fee. Received reply yesterday:
Dear Mr. Li,

Thank you for your patience.

I'd like to share that from now on you will have a fee free Gold Card. As far as the annual fee for the year 2014 is concerned, we will go ahead and make necessary changes from our end to make your Gold Card ending in xx_xx a fee free Card going forward.

We value your membership with us and look forward to assisting you again. So good.

Where is this listed in the online 'banking' system for you brendanli?
If I go to my Corp Card AMEX portal and go to
- Card Management
- Apply for Additional Cards
I am taken out of the portal to this link: https://www.americanexpress.com/au/content/supplementary-cards/

I see plenty of interesting cards at $0 fee including The Platinum Card and The Platinum Edge Credit Card.

I'm tempted to apply for the $0 Platinum Card. What I don't know is, is it the same at $0 as the $1200pa one? Surely not.

Interesting, does this apply to the normal corporate cards also? (namely the green) or just the qantas cards?

Mine is the Green. If you have one, log into the portal and follow my menu selections and see where it takes you.

I have the option of getting one from work, I hadn't ever been interested in it before!

Yours may be different to mine, but the $0 additional cards listed are actually supplementary cards only.

mick, what does that mean? They charge to your work account, or they can't be used by you - only your family/lucky friends?

They don't charge to my corporate account - what I meant was that I can get supplementary cards (for family/lucky friends) on my non-corporate card accounts for a $0 fee (which is no surprise). My list shows a whole bunch of different supplementary cards for $0 additional fee (except the Gold Charge). Hope that makes sense.

Did you end up applying for the card at a discounted rate?

No I did not. I don't really want one of these for someone else - I want it for myself!
