I had breakfast in both the SYD and MEL Flounges over the Grand Final weekend.

I suggest you do the same when you can.

ok - decided - up early for breakfast in the lounge. I may lose my Pt status soon, so might be the last chance for a while.

I agree this is a good decision. The breakfast is really quite good, offering a good range, including eggs benedict etc. Also, that glass of Moet or Veuve is sublime with breakfast :D .

For someone that hasn't been to the standard domestic Sydney QP, what's the food like there for breakfast? I might be getting there around 10am, and may be forced to eat on the run so my first visit to the QP might come in useful.

Is there sufficient to eat there, or should I be going elsewhere for food?

Pllenty of toast, some muesli, yogurt and some fruit. More than enough for me if about to board a morning flight with a breakfast.

I think by 10am the breakfast goodies will be gone, which is a pity as it is the best food offerings they have. I think you will have a very limited choice available, with probably just small rolls and cold meat/cheese etc to put in it, and a few biscuits etc. If you are hungry, it may be better to go elsewhere, although I never do, I just make do with what is available in the QP.

Its a pity your first visit is not at a better time, which is afternoon when the bar is open. That's when the QP becomes useful  .

Actually SYD run a hybrid catering from around 9:30 until 11:00 with both cont. breakfast and lunch time nibbles available.

Thanks for the clarification (I don't ever remember being in Syd QP at those times). That is certainly a better situation for Beardoc.

ADL also runs the hybrid arrangement as well.

ok - followed the advice and got there early for breakfast - I must admit it was very pleasant to relax at a table and be served excellent quality food washed down by very acceptable liquid. I still think the 1st class lounge is overkill (a lot of waste space just walking past the vertical garden, matching marble floor slabs), but very comfortable.
