...."The Parkroyal brand will return to Australia later this year as Singapore-based Pan Pacific Hotel Group (PPHG) yesterday signalled its intention to aggressively grow its presence in the local market.
The company will initially launch with three hotels.
The Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour and Crowne Plaza Parramatta will be rebranded Parkroyal Darling Harbour and Parkroyal Parramatta, while the Sheraton Perth will become the Pan Pacific Perth. "

Wow, amazed IHG gave up the CP Darling Harbour.

THey must have struck a killer deal!

I can't say I ever really warmed to the CP Darling Harbour.

Sure, but the loaction must surely haveallowed them to attract heaps of tourist business, as well as business business.....

Interesting that the hotels I always used to know as the Parkroyal Parramatta and the Parkroyal Darling Harbour are going to be that once more.

Wonder if the group still owns any of the other former Parkroyal properties and will rebrand them as such? (IIRC PR BNE became Royal on the Park, PR MEL became the Stamford Plaza, PR St Kilda Rd the Parkview, Old Sydney PR the Old Sydney HI, can't remember the other ones).

Parkroyal Landmark Kings Cross now private apartments, Parkroyal Sydney Airport now HI, Parkroyal Adelaide now Grand Chancellor (ex HI), Parkroyal Perth now CP.

Parkroyal Surfers Paradise now CP.

Parkroyal Surfers Paradise now CP.

Interesting comments that they are looking further afield for more Parkroyals, Canberra and Queenstown are specifically mentioned and have former Parkroyals as does Manly.

The other point of note is that Parkroyal and Pan Pacific are members of the Global Hotel Alliance, alongside the Mirvac group hotels (which is discussed elsewhere on AFF).
