Whilst on the climb (seatbelt signs on) out of SYD yesterday my right thigh suddenly cramped, and it was bloody painful. Now normally if I get a cramp like that I'll be up and moving as much as possible to relieve it. Of course, I could not get up, so had my right leg extended and elevated as much as possible, and had to just endure things until the the cramp went and the pain subsided. At one stage I had it resting on the seat divider (in J on A380) - I'm not sure what the lady sitting next to me thought about that!

Anyone else had 'awkward' problems during ascent/descent when the seatbelt signs being on have been an impairment to resolving the issue?

Anyone else had 'awkward' problems during ascent/descent when the seatbelt signs being on have been an impairment to resolving the issue?

I'm afraid the extent of my problems arise out of a sudden desire to use the facilities after consuming one too many glasses of wine whilst seated in J.

Sorry to hear your experience tuapekastar! I hope all is OK and hopefully will see you tomorrow night in Singapore.

I know it may not help other people but when I get a cramp I try to increase circulation, friction around the area by rubbing it vigorously and that seems to help. I think trying to stretch the leg as much possible also helps but not much more one can do if you are stuck in one position.
