Has anyone managed to get a higher limit than the $8k from day one.
I'm about to apply but really want at least 20k.
What happens if you put the account in credit and then spend over the credit limit .. has anyone tried this ?

I did a thread search but didn't find an answer

I got $10k, which is what I requested.

I have $8k limit and regularly overpay in to credit and then make $20k-$30k purchases, depends what card you have?

Thanks , I will ask for $20 and see what they give me.
There is a $35 over limit fee in the T&C.
I will also try the credit route if I need a big purchase.

I don't recall requesting a specific limit, but they gave me $15k from day 1.

(that took my credit limit across my 4 cards to about 25% of my income)

Was there a "Credit Limit Requested" question on the application? Maybe I didn't request $10k. In any event, that's what they gave me.

Don't remember. It was about 18 months ago that I signed up.

I don't think there was an option to ask for a credit limit. I initially got 8.5K but later requested a higher limit to use the card for school fees.

If applying online, there is definitely a question about what credit limit you would like to have. I got what I asked for (>10k).

I asked for 22k..figuring they might give me 12 or 15.
I'ts all a bit of a hoot for a self funded retiree.. income =x.. income after tax = ditto... :-)

I had my credit limit raised to 25k. Finding it handy to buy Gift Cards and to pay all the domestic bills to get a point a dollar on everything. Westpac and ANZ Visa cards are no longer in either wallet.

Same.

The biggest limit I've been given was 65k. Which was just about the combined limits in all my other cards.

I got $ 16 K, did not ask for that. would like more but just pre fund etc if I am going to go over. Last month was just on $ 40K so plenty of points. Can't understand why they have not offered an upgrade seeing there is about $ 200K a year going through the card and always paid by due date.

We run with more than one card each and the idea of 25% of income for credit limits is something that is not always applied.

In the on-line application that I completed about 18 months ago there was no question that asked what your requested credit limit would be, so I think they may have been using different application forms at different times. I thought it very interesting that there was absolutely no way of specifying your own credit limit but went ahead anyway to see what they came back with. I got a $11K limit approved.

Asked for 20k got 20k.. terribly clunky org to deal with tho.. hope nothing fouls up

Do not even dream of paying Woolies credit card a day late! The card is run by HSBC.
That said I have really enjoyed having an uncapped Qantas points earning card in my wallet that earns a point a dollar.
Last night we were in a refurbed 767 to get to Sydney complete with IPad movies on a Woolies created JASA.

bit of a giggle.. (almost) maxed the card in the first couple of days.. had to ring them to find out how to put some dosh in the drawer.. :)
