Credit Limit

bit of a giggle.. (almost) maxed the card in the first couple of days.. had to ring them to find out how to put some dosh in the drawer.. :)

You probably were told this, but you can deposit cash over the counter in Woolworths stores. It used to be unlimited (and I think some people here have probably made some WW staff eyes water by handing over $10-$20k cash at a time) but now it is limited to $2k cash per deposit. I do not know if you can so one $2k deposit after the other.

I was told at one place you can only make withdrawls of up to 2K without prior arrangement unless there is funds available.

So I just did it in a few transactions over the day and also sent my partner in as well.

Just applied for EDR card. Got Citi Select though wanted a Mastercard for QF points earning 1:1.

Is their application process as painful as Citi? How long does approval usually take? Or are they happy with a simple call to the accountant? (self employed)

There was no option to request a desired credit limit, however there was an option to request a maximum credit limit.

Blessed11 the Woolworths EDRCC is not as difficult in getting to YES as Citi Select. Do not expect to get a credit limit like you may get with Citi and when you kick off using the card do quite a bit of personal stuff on it like home running costs. Out of the blue they offered to increase my limit from 20k to 25k so I took it up.
Unlike with others who paid only taxes on it I put a whole slew of stuff through it and the card stopped working for a few hours early on when I spent almost the whole credit limit in 2 transactions that were personal. A phone call resolved this and Mrscove wears what I bought her.
HSBC run this card through the Woolworths Money site on the Internet and it is not the most brilliant site but it has been adequate. $89 for a point per dollar card that is uncapped off points earn is very nice for Qantas ponts earn and I reload the card during the month by BPay but have never put the card substantially into credit.
Set up auto pay as a back up or you will get charged hundreds if you pay a day late.
It is a great card that produces great results.

Thanks for the info cove.
Will be awaiting a call from EDRCC in the next couple days. Hopefully will be a quick process. I don't have a point per dollar Qantas Visa/MasterCard at the moment and thought this would be cheaper than getting a second Citi card (Signature) linked to Qantas to go along with my Citi Select.
Have also recently acquired WBC Altitude Platinum Plus, where the Amex has become used much more often than my Centurion.

All very good advice from cove - and agrees with my own experiences exactly. The only thing I would add is be very careful of your user name and password selection choice when setting this up as the WW EDR web site has totally over the top security and loves to lock out users and resets online passwords and PIN numbers at whim. I love security as much as the next man but its so poorly executed on their web site that its actually counter-productive sometimes....

I got stuck on the login once, and had to phone them. I asked them "What's the question"?

That would explain why I have had 3 PINs in a couple of years and need to get a fourth one. I have had to sign recently as the PIN dropped out.

Ha! Lol. Yes - due to security reasons you are not allowed to know what your security question was.....

And watch out for that - the security question answer that you have selected is also - get this - case sensetive.....

#itsecurityphail

Thanks all for the responses. Received an initial letter from WWEDR requesting my tax assessment. Sent through and a few days later received another letter saying account is conditionally approved subject to 100 point ID being provided to a WW supermarket. Will pop in sometime this week. Letter didn't note anything about credit limit, will be interesting to see what they give as a starting amount...

Hi guys,

Received my card and activated. Just confirming, if I use the card at Woolworths and scan the EDR barcode at the back, I'll technically earn 2 QFF points per dollar? 1 from the credit card and one from the EDR card? Or do they not allow double dipping and it's best to pay with an alternate card and then scan my EDR barcode at the back?

Cheers

Yes, as is very clearly described in the card's marketing materials.

Note, you earn no EDR points on the first $30 spent at WW.

Pay with whichever card earns the most. Many of use Amex + EDR and use the MasterCard at places that surcharge AMEX.

Thanks Deka. Thought would be best to check.

Yup - will continue using Amex Platinum Edge + EDR for shopping/fuel. That equates to 4 points per dollar on shopping and points per dollar on fuel, where applicable of course. My Citi Select is usually the winner when an Amex surcharge is present. Just got this card so that I can at times use it in place of Citi Select
in the event I want to boost my QFF balance from my non-Amex transactions.

Well, it's no more cards to carry ... Remove the EDR card and replace with EDR MasterCard.

Yup, precisely my thinking and has already been done.

One other Q - my wife was filling in the supplementary card form last night and it asked for her QFF Number. Will transactions processed on her card be credited to her own QFF card or to mine? I understand that the EDR barcode at the back will be linked to her own account.

It's so they can print her EDR barcode on the back. The points from credit spend go to you.

Applied for a card and $20k limit last Monday. Got a $20k limit and card in the mail, the following Monday.
