Hi Guys
I've got 2 x Travel credits that have been sitting there for ages because Qantas said they would give me DOUBLE STATUS CREDITS. With the conversion to TRAVEL PASSES has anyone seen anything in writing to confirm that DSC flows through ?
I did ring and to be honest the consultant did not give me a lot of confidence.
He said yes they should and if they did not after taking the flights to rfing up etc.
I would have expected there would be something in writing.
Anyone know ?

I highly suspect that you will have to call up afterwards, sorry :(

I'm curious about Qantas telling you that your flight credits give DSC though, I thought that was more a unofficial benefit of flight credits / vouchers.

I had 6 travel passes issued by Q during the pandemic when they cancelled flights. Each came with DSCs. I’ve used 4 of them - DSCs have flowed through on all. It’s hot and miss - sometimes without me chasing up and sometimes I’ve had to email. I haven’t called about them - I like having the electronic record.

Hmm. this seems an unusual situation.

When you say you were "told" you would get DSC do you mean in writing or verbally? were the original Flight Credits from original DSC eligible bookings (and thus would have kept those)? If QF just bulk converted them, without anything in writing I would be very suspect that any DSC would flow through or were you told by QF that they were converting the credits to TP's and they would have DSC with them? (I'd feel more confident in this scenario)

When TP's were issued as credits lst year with the offer of one of DSC, DP or I think it was 10% extra value or something like that, a "Opt in" confirmation email was generated by QF and confirmed the TP would be issued with the selected option.. and yes, they had come through just fine (I kept all those opt in email confirmations with the TP email's just in case...)

Regular flight credits converted to TP have, iirc, just kept the value but nothing else.

so I'd be wary about this and trying to understand the notion of being told you'd get DSC. Do you have any kind of written confirmation from QF about this?

I've kept the original emails with that DSC offer, that was the only reason I left the money there with them otherwise I would have requested a refund

That’s good you kept the original emails. It won’t matter that QANTAS changed the form of the credit from a Travel Credit to a Travel Pass - provided you comply with the terms of that original email you will be fine. However, based on my experience, sometimes the DSCs arrive and sometimes they don’t. It’s a bit hit and miss.

You will need to write to them once the 6 weeks after travel has passed (if that’s the time mentioned in the original email) if the DSCs have not arrived, just laying out the original conditions and explaining how you complied with them. It isn’t always necessary - in most cases the DSCs have flowed automatically, but there have been some cases where I have had to email them.

I'm getting close to six weeks since my flight that had double SCs attached via a Travel Pass but still no sign of them. What is the email address you wrote to about this? I'd also prefer an electronic record, and of course avoiding the likelihood of wasted time and effort on the phone. Thanks.
