I received an email from Ponant yesterday advising cancellation of my
September cruise (so assume that means October cruise as well). They cite the Australian government still not able to give approval for their cruises to go ahead.
I fleetingly considered watching this as well, but couldn’t quite bring myself to do itI'm right now binge watching Below Deck Mediterranean under lockdown. I've officially gone mad.
Yeah, your gut instinct was spot-on. I lasted 20 minutes.....I fleetingly considered watching this as well, but couldn’t quite bring myself to do it

Yes, they were doing Broome to Fremantle, circle cruise, Fremantle to Hobart, etc. Only 200 pax capacity. I think much of Ponant’s frustration would be the rotating border closures, which the Australian government couldn’t guarantee because it have no say in it.where was the cruise - in Australian waters?
In a similar vein to enjoying variety, on a Drink package I love working my way through the coughtail menu because they are normally so expensive. One of the many aspects of cruising which I enjoy is the quality and variety of the food. But not having cruised since March, 2020, I miss trying many varieties of food. It's taken me a while but I have recently started to make sure that we eat out at least once a week. Usually at lunchtime. I've also joined a group which meets on a Saturday morning at various cafes in the local area which gives me the chance to try places which I haven't heard of.
So at least I have replaced one of the aspects of cruising which I so enjoy.
Absolutely ridiculous. This reads like a very political arrangement with little or no basis in science

I think we will all be having a booster of Pfizer/Moderna before we can travel. I expect by March next year. Some won't bother like they don't bother with the flu, but for we who love overseas travel, we will.My understanding of the US position is that interim emergency approval was sought by Pfizer, Moderna and J&J for their vaccines and was granted due to the dreadful US covid figures. AZ didn't apply in US for interim approval. But they all have applied for permanent US approval which takes longer to process.
I am hoping that by the time I am allowed out of Prison Island again, either AZ will be approved in US or else I will have had a booster of either Pfizer or Moderna.
it was pretty amazing on Seabourn where all drinks are inclusive - I had fun working my way down the coughtail lists in each of the barsIn a similar vein to enjoying variety, on a Drink package I love working my way through the coughtail menu because they are normally so expensive.
Oh how I miss having a white, or fancy gin coughtail at the stern of the ship watching another Greek, Italian, French, or Croatian island slip away
